    Anne Marie Bender, five-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bender of RR 1, New Hamburg, died Friday at Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1969. Mrs. Bender was the former Marjorie Steinmann. Surviving besides her parents are one sister, Dawn, 3; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Bender of RR 1, New Hamburg and Mrs. And Mrs. Elmer Steinmann of Wellesley, and three great-grandmothers, Mrs. Rachel Bender and Mrs. Lydia Roth, both of RR 1, Tavistock and Mrs. Katherine Steinmann of Wellesley. The body will be at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home after noon Sunday until noon Monday when removal will be made to the 17th Line Cassel Mennonite Church of East Zorra Township for a funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will be made in the 16th Line Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. Vernon Zehr will conduct the services assisted by Rev. Howard Gerber. Memorial contributions will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    BENDER, Edna Marie - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday April 10, 2003, at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg.Edna was formerly of RR 1, New Hamburg. She Was born in East Zorra township 84 years ago, a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Lydia (Lichti) Roth. Edna was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the WMSC. She enjoyed volunteering at Mennonite Central Committee and the New Hamburg Thrift Shop as well as gardening and quilting. Beloved wife of the late Milfird Bender who predeceased her May 2, 2002. Loving mother of Ralph and Marjorie Bender of New Hamburg, Luanna and John Gravelle of Stratford, Bruce and Marlene Bender, Glen and Dorothy Bender, all of New Hamburg and Ruth and Jim Gingerich of Zurich. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Mahlon Roth, Doris Yantzi, Ken and Catherine Roth, all of Tavistock, Ina and Lavern Bender, Elma and Elmer Yantzi, all of RR 1, Tavistock, Mervin and Dorothy Roth, Wilmer (Bill) and Florence Roth and Raymond and Audrey Roth, all of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leona Bender of RR 1, Tavistock and Gladwin and Elma Bender of New Hamburg and a number of nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by granddaughters, Donna and Ann Marie and by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Erma Roth, Andrew Yantzi, Clarence and Ida Bender, Elvera Bender and Lloyd Bender. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg today (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m. and again Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The committal will take place on Monday April 14, 2003 at 19th Line East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Henry Regehr officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Nithview Home, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the charity of one's choice.

On Oct. 11, 1932, he was married to Bena Lebold, who survives. Also surviving are 6 sons (Ray, Harold, Earl, Wayne, Ervin, and Bruce), one daughter (Marjorie - Mrs. Ralph Bender), and 24 grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter (Reta - Mrs. Leonard Cressman), one sister (Helena - Mrs. William Jutzi), and one grandchild. He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church of Wellesley, where funeral services were held on Dec. 24, in charge of Alvin Leis, Ervin Erb, and Jacob Roes; interment in adjoining cemetery.

    Bender, Solomon R., was born in Wilmot Township, Ont., Jan. 16, 1882; died after a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 1, 1957; aged 74 y. 10 m. 15 d. In his early youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Amish Mennonite Church of East Zorra, Ont., of which he was a member until his death. He was the first to break the family circle.     WELLESLEY Mrs. Moses - Steinman, 18 Water St., died early today at the home of her son, Elmer. She was 86.

    The former Kate Gerber, Mrs. Steinman was born June 18, 1885, in Wellesley Township. She was was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gerber. She was a member of Mapleview Mennonite Church.

    She is survived by one son, Elmer, 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1952, one daughter in 1948 and one brother and one sister.

    The body will be at Futher Brothers funeral home after 7:30 tonight until noon Thursday. The funeral services will be held in Mapleview Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday followed by burial in Mapleview Mennonite cemetery.

    LEBOLD. - Daniel Lebold was born in Wilmot Twp., on April 5, 1874; died May 15, 1941; aged 67 y. 1 m. 10 d. In his early youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Amish Mennonite Church. He was united in holy matrimony with Catherine Streicher on Feb. 27, 1900. This union was blessed with 11 children, 5 boys and 6 girls, of whom 2 sons predeceased him in infancy. On Oct. 9, 1914, he was ordained as deacon in the Mapleview A. M. congregation. On Jan. 10, 1920, he was ordained a minister of the Gospel. On Aug. 1, 1926, he was ordained as bishop of that congregation. In this capacity he has faithfully served for 15 years until he was confined to his home by failing health more than a year ago. He leaves to mourn his departure his bereaved wife, 3 sons, 6 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 1 brother, and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Peter Nafziger at the house from I Pet. 5: 10, and at the church by Moses O. Jantzi from II Cor. 5: 1, Chris Schultz from John 3, and Daniel S. Jutzi. May God comfort the bereaved relatives and the congregation whom he served.

    Mrs. Catherine Lebold, 82, died Thursday evening, December 10th, at her home in Wellesley. She was a daughter of the late Christian Streicher and Robena Roth. Her husband, Bishop Daniel Lebold, died in 1941. She was born in Wellesley, September 11th, 1877, and was a member of Mapleview Amish Mennonite Church, Wellesley. She is survived by two sons, Samuel, R.R. 1, Milverton, and Allan of New Dundee; and six daughters, Mrs. David (Nancy) Erb, Wellesley ; Miss Emma, Kitchener; Mrs. Elmer (Beama) Steinman, Wellesley; Mrs. Christian (Catherine) Albrecht, New Dundee; Mrs. Norman (Edna) Zehr, Topping; Mrs. Irvin (Erma) Erb, 5th line Wellesley; 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Three sons predeceased her. Clarence, Emery and William, also one granddaughter, Betty Lebold. The remains rested at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Steinman, Wellesley, where a short service was held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at the Mapleview Amish Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Bishop Christian Streicher officiated. The pallbearers were: Howard Lebold, Dan Albrecht, Ray Steinman, Harold Steinman, Paul Erb, and Lloyd Zehr. The funeral was largely attended, relatives and friends were present from Toronto, Tillsonburg, Kitchener, Stratford, New Dundee, New Hamburg, Baden, Milverton, and the surrounding district.
