    Notes:

    Hunsberger, --- Moses, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Hunsberger, was born in Wilmot Township, Nov. 20, 1870; after a brief illness passed away at his home near Bridgeport, Ont.; aged 82 y. 3 m. 14 d. His first wife (Mary Horst) preceded him in death in 1932. He was married to Mary Lebold, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Leonard and Mahlon), 2 daughters (Mary Alice and Anna Mae), 2 brothers (Noah and Abraham), 2 sisters (Mary Ann and Elmina-Mrs. Jacob Brubacher). He was converted during a series of meetings held by J. S. Coffman at the Manheim Church and united with the Mennonite Church. He was an active worker in the church serving as superintendent and teacher in the Sunday school held at Bridgeport years ago and also at Erb Street Church, Waterloo. He was a member of the Mennonite Aid Union for many years and served as a former president. Funeral services were held at the Erb Street Mennonite Church by Joel Swartzendruber and J. B. Martin.

    In profound sorrow we announce the death of our beloved Husband and Father Moses Hunsperger at Bridgeport, Ontario on Wednesday, March 4th 1953 Aged 82 Years. Funeral service will be held from his late residence in Bridgeport, Ontario on Saturday, March 7th, 1953 at 2.00 o'clock p.m. followed by a service in the Erb St. Mennonite Church Waterloo, Ontario at 2.30 p.m. Interment in the Waterloo Mennonite Cemetery.

    Hunsberger, Mary, daughter of John and Mary (Bender) Lebold, was born at Tavistock, Ont., Nov. 26, 1899; died at Kitchener, Ont., May 27, 1974; aged 74 y. She was married to Moses Hunsberger, who preceded her in death on Mar. 4, 1953. Surviving are 2 sons (Leonard and Mahlon), 2 daughters (Mary Alice - Mrs. Gary Brown and Anna Mae - Mrs. Jack Langstone), 6 grandchildren, and 2 sisters (Lucinda - Nrs. Milton Boshart and Barbara - Mrs. Aaron Gascho). She was a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 30, in charge of Galen Johns; interment in the Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery.

    HUNSBERGER, Mrs. Moses
    At the K-W Hospital, on Monday, May 27, 1974, after a brief illness, Mary Lebold, formerly of Bridgeport, age 75 years, a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church, a resident of the area all her life, member of the sewing circle of the church; mother of Leonard and Mahlon, both of Kitchener, Mrs. Gary (Mary Alice) Brown of Petrolia, Mrs. Jack (Anna Mae) Langstone of Auckland, N.Z.; sister of Mrs. Milton (Lucinda) Bushart and Mrs. Aaron (Barbara) Gascho, both of St. Agatha; six grandchildren also survive; predeceased by her husband and one brother.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, until noon on Thursday when removal to the Erb Street Mennonite Church will take place. Funeral and committal service will be held in the church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Galen Johns officiating. Interment in the Erb Street Mennonite cemetery. Donations to Gideon Bibles may be made as expressions of sympathy.

    Abram Honsperger, "is married to Elizabeth Scherch. They reside about four miles north-west of Waterloo where he is engaged in farming. On June 24th, 1892, he was ordained deacon of the Mennonite Church for the David Eby field of labor. He is a man that is much beloved by his church and highly esteemed by all who know him for his noble and Christian principles. To him was born a family of twelve children,.."

    Abraham Hunsberger, died at his home in Waterloo Ont., Oct. 28, 1912; aged 78 y. 7 m. 23 d. He was married to Elizabeth Sherk April 1, 1862. To this union were born 12 children, of whom 5 preceded him to the spirit world, leaves to mourn his departure, a widow, 7 children and 11 grandchildren. In 1892 he was ordained to the office of deacon, in which calling we believe he was faithful with the talent given to him, until four years ago, when he thought he could not perform his duties any more, on account of feebleness, so asked for some one to be ordained in his stead, which was granted unto him. Funeral services were conducted at the Waterloo Church Oct. 30, by Bro. Jonas Snider in German from John 5: 24, 25 and in English by Bro. Noah Stauffer from Heb. 4: 9-11. He was buried at the David Eby cemetery. Peace to his ashes.

    Hunsberger. - Elizabeth Sherk was born Jan. 30, 1843; died June 20, 1924; aged 81 y. 5 m. 21 d. On April 1, 1862, she was united in holy matrimony with Abraham Hunsberger, who predeceased her 11 years. To this union were born 8 sons and four daughters, of whom 4 sons and 1 daughter predeceased her; leaving 4 sons, 3 daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held from her late home in Waterloo, Ont., to the Waterloo Mennonite Church, and burial in the cemetery several miles west of the town. The services were conducted by brethren E. C. Bowman, Jonas Snider, and Oscar Burkholder.

M Church in Waterloo Co., Ont., and was a true and faithful Christian to the end. On November 30, 1897, he was married to Sister Mary Bender who with 1 son and three daughters now survive him, besides his aged mother, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Buried at East Zorra A. M. Church March 17 where a large number of friends had gathered to pay their last tribute to the departed loved one. Services by the Brethren Chris. Kropf from Phil. 1 : 20-23; Chris. Zohr from John 9: 4, Dan Jutzi from Luke 2: 29. May God help us all so we can meet again at the right hand of the throne of God, which were the last words he said to the undersigned.

    Notes:

    Lebold-Mary, third daughter of Jacob M. and Maria (Ruby) Bender, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., Sept. 24, 1871; died at her home in the same township on Feb. 6, 1926; aged 54 y. 4 m. 13 d. In her maiden days she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized and received into church fellowship by her father, the late Bishop Jacob M. Bender, and was a faithful sister till she was called to her reward. On Nov. 30, 1897, she was joined in holy wedlock to John Lebold of Waterloo Co., Ont. This union was blessed with 1 son (Norman) and 3 daughters (Mary, Barbara, and Lucinda), all at home. On March 14, 1919, her husband was called to the great beyond. She leaves 1 son, 3 daughters, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. Her death was caused by cancer, which she bore in Christian patience and fortitude. She had a hearty desire to be with her Savior, commending her dear children to the heavenly Father's care. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the East Zorra A.M. Cemetery on Feb. 9, when services were conducted Bros. Peter Litwiller of Baden (text, II Tim. 4: 6-8). D.H. Steinman of Baden (text, Tit. 2: 11-14), and D.S. Jutzi of Tavistock (text, Jno. 14: 18). A brother.

    Abram Honsperger, "was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, about the year 1801. When a young man he came to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario. He was married to Mollie, daughter of Abram and Nancy (Clemmer) Janzen. She was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, June 18th, 1802. After their marriage they settled in Wilmot Township, their farm was where now is the village of Baden. Here he died in 1838. His widow was afterwards married to Jonas Shantz and resided at Upper Road, Wilmot Township, where she died March 26th, 1888. To her and her first husband were born eight children"

    Bender. - Jacob M. Bender was born at New Hamburg, Ont.; aged 72 y. 1 m. 10 d. He united with the A. M. Church in his early youth and was married to Elizabeth Miller, Oct. 6, 1863, who died May 12, 1864. He was afterwards married to Maria Ruby. To this union were born 4 sons and 8 daughters. He leaves to mourn his departure his aged companion, 4 sons, 6 daughters, 5 brothers, 30 grandchildren. He was ordained deacon in the East Zora congregation in August, 1871. In 1883 he was ordained minister of the Gospel and in 1887 was unanimously chosen and ordained bishop of his home congregation. He faithfully and earnestly administered to the needs of the Church at home and abroad. He performed 136 marriages and baptized 400 converts and took part in almost every funeral service he was present. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever asked. Sermon at the house by C. S. Zehr by reading Psa. 90, with a few remarks at the church. C. Kropf read II Tim. 4: 7,8. S. J. Schwartzendruber of Huron Co., Mich., spoke earnestly on II Cor. 5: 1-10. Burial in cemetery adjoining.

    Bender. - Sister Mary Bender was born in Perth Co., Ont., Feb. 10, 1845; died in Oxford Co., Ont., at the home of her son-in-law, John B. Schwartzendruber, Feb. 2, 1916; aged 70 y. 11 m. 2 d. In early youth she united with the East Zorra A. M. Church and remained faithful to the end. She was a daughter of the late Bishop Joseph Rudy. Oct. 11, 1864, she was married to Jacob M. Bender and lived in matrimony 49 y. 9 m. 3 d. To this union were born 4 sons and 8 daughters, 2 daughters having died about 30 years ago. The sons are John, Joseph, Jacob, David; the daughters, Katie, Mary, Christena, Annie, Lydia, Sarah, all living in South Easthope and East Zorra. July 14, 1914, her husband died, and since that time she made her home with Sister Lydia, having lived nearly all her life on the farm owned by her father and at present owned by her son, Pre. Jacob R. Bender. She lived a widow 1 y. 6 m. 19 d. She leaves to mourn her loss 4 sons, 6 daughters, and 35 grandchildren, also 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral from the home of her son Jacob was held on Feb. 6, where she was laid to rest at the side of her husband in the East Zorra A. M. Cemetery. Funeral services by Bro. Dan Jutzi at home and in the meeting house by Bros. D. H. Steinman and Chris. Kropf. Texts II Cor. 4: 13-81 and II Tim. 4: 6-8. A large number of friends were gathered to pay their last tribute to the departed.
