    Bishop Samuel Roth, 79, of Lisbon died Friday, February 1 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

    Born in Mornington Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Roth.

    Surviving besides his wife, the former Catherine Brenneman, are two sons, Nelson of RR 2 Wellesley and Kenneth of RR 1 Wellesley; three daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Mildred) Rupert of RR 1 Gadshill, Esther of RR 1 Wellesley, Mrs. Eli (Edna) Miller of Stuart Draft, VA; two sisters Mrs. Manas (Bena) Miller of Middlebury, Ind., Mrs. Moses (Adeline) Jantzi of Wellesley; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was ordained minister in 1945 of The Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church; in 1953 he was ordained bishop.

    Funeral services were conducted Monday from Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church.

    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

    Roth.-Daniel, son of the late John and Barbara (Beller) Roth, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., Feb. 17, 1864; died of a heart attack, May 28, 1947; aged 83 y. 3 m. 11 d. His wife preceded him in death in 1939. One infant daughter also predeceased him. Surviving are 5 children (Christian, Crosshill, Ont.; Samuel, Bamberg, Ont.; Joseph, Corfu, N. Y.; Beana-Mrs. Abe Graber, Middlebury, Ind.; and Atlina-Mrs. Moses Jantzi, Wellesley, Ont.), one brother (John, of Ontario), and 3 sisters (Lena-widow of the late John Albrecht, Beana-Mrs. Dan Ropp, and Katie-Mrs. Henry Albrecht, all of Ontario). Funeral services were conducted by Samuel Lichti at the late home of the deceased May 31, and at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, of which he was a member from the time of his youth.

    Mrs. Daniel B. Roth - Wellesley - An aged resident, Mrs. Daniel D. Roth, age 79, died at her home here on Sunday after an illness of seven weeks. Deceased, who was born in New York state, came to Canada at the age of four years. She attended the third line Amish Mennonite church. Surviving are her husband, Daniel B. Roth, three sons, Christian of Crosshill, Sam of Wellesley township, and Joseph of Corfu, N,Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Abra Graber of Middleburg, Ind., and Mrs. Moses Jantzi of Wilmot township; one brother, Christian Zehr of Schley, Neb., 31 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning from the home to third line Amish Mennonite church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Bishop Jacob Lichti officiated.
