Passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Monday October 30, 2006.
Beloved wife for 55 years of Herbert Hackbart of Wellesley. Loving mother of Murray Hackbart, Joyce (Wayne) Gerber, Marlene (Paul) Ming, and Joan (Neil) Gray. Proud and loving grandmother of David (Laura) Gerber, Angela (Chris) Gerber, Jennifer Ming, Sherri (Matt) Ming, Danielle Gray and Candice Gray as well as great-grandmother of Calem, Keegan, Siarah and Taesha. She will also be remembered by her brother Harold (Leona) Mohr and sister Geraldine Helmuth and sister-in-law Margaret (Joe) Brown.

Predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Mary Mohr and brother-in-law Stuart Helmuth.

Verna cared deeply for her husband and family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Verna and Herbert farmed for 40 years in North Easthope Township. Her passions included gardening, ballroom dancing and cooking. Verna was a role model for all.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Verna with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Verna life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday November 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. Reception will follow in the funeral home Fireside Reception Room. Interment will take place at Rush's Cemetery, Wellesley on Thursday afternoon.

Mogr, Herbert - of RR 1, New Hamburg, passed away at the Stratford General Hospital, Sunday, October. 25th, 1981, in his 84th year,

He farmed in the North Easthope Township and did carpentry work.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Mohr. Survived by his wife, the former Mary Becker ; one son, Harold of RR1, New Hamburg, two daughters, Geraldine (Mrs. Stewart Helmuth) Preston, Verna (Mrs. Herbert Hackbart), of RR 1, New Hamburg, one brother, Louis Moore of New Hamburg, one sister, Luella (Mrs. Jack Wilson) of Stratford, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one daughter, Shirley, one sister and three Brothers.

Visitation of the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley after 7 p.m. tonight. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

On memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Reverend Robert Fleming officiating. Burial will be in the New Lisbon Cemetery.

MOHR, Mrs. Herbert (Mary) - Peacefully, on Friday, Jan. 19, at the Hillside Nursing Home, Sebringville, Mary Catherine Mohr, formerly of RR 1, New Hamburg (Ratzberg).

Mrs. Mohr was born in North Easthope Township, 91 years ago. She was a daughter of the late John Becker and the late Elizabeth Becker. She and her husband were long time vendors at the Stratford Farmers Market.

Beloved mother of Harold and his wife Lena Mohr of RR 1, New Hamburg, Geraldine and her husband Stuart Helmuth of Cambridge (P) and Verna and her husband Herbert Hackbart of RR 1, New Hamburg; beloved sister of Ida (Mrs. Austin Doering) of RR 2, Baden. Lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Mohr, October 25, 1981; a daughter, Shirley; one brother and three sisters.
Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. Rev. Don Irwin will officiate. Spring interment in the Lisbon United cemetery.

WELLESLEY, Nov. 26. - William R. Mohr, 77 of Ratzburg, died at the home of his son, Louis, North Easthope, today following an illness of four years. Deceased was a member of Lisbon Evangelical church. His wife, Lydia Pletch, died one year ago. Surviving are five sons, Ezra, Gordon, Norman, Herbert and Louis, all of North Easthope, two daughters, Elizabeth at home and Mrs. J.S. Wilson of St. Marys, three brothers, Martin and John of Wilmot township, Henry of North Easthope; five sisters, Mrs. George Falk of Shakespeare, Mrs. C.B. Schmidt, Mrs. Henry Wettlaufer and Mrs. William Dahmer, all of North Easthope, Mrs. Jacob Spies of Floradale. Two sisters, Mrs. Noah Pletch and Mrs. Henry Nicholas, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1: 30 p.m. from the residence to Lisbon Evangelical church with interment in Lisbon Cemetery.

John Becker

Stricken with a heart attack, John Becker, 72, died Sunday morning at his residence, 104 Ontario street north. Mr. Becker was caretaker and a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian church. Born in Wellesley a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Becker, he came to Kitchener 19 years ago. He married Elizabeth Wettlaufer on June 28, 1888 at Philipsburg. Deceased was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters.

Surviving are three sons, Ray Becker of San Pedro, Calif., Arthur of Toronto and Raymond of Welland, two daughters, Mrs. R. Hutchison of Ottawa and Mrs. P. Elsasser of Bellerose, Long Island, N.Y., six brother and three sisters.

Remains will rest at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home until Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. When they will be removed to St. Andrew's Presbyterian church for funeral services at 2:30 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. Finlay Stewart, will officiate. Interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery.

Ottawa, July 27 Mrs. Elizabeth Becker died here yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harry J. Hutchinson. Death followed an illness of five months.

She was born in North Easthope, and attended St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Conrad Wettlaufer and the former Margaret Fowler [sic].
Her husband, the late John Becker, predeceased her July 1, 1939.

There are three sons, Roy of San Pedro, Calif., Arthur of Toronto and Raymond of Welland, and two daughters, Mrs. Harry J. Hutchinson of Ottawa and Mrs. P.S. Elsasser of Oceanside, Long Island, N.Y.

She was the last survivor of the family.

There will be a public funeral service tomorrow at the Schreiter Sandrock funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
The body will be resting at the funeral home from 10 p.m. Wednesday until the funeral.
