    John Koenig, Sr. - By Record Correspondent - Linwood, March 18 - John Koenig, Sr., passed away at this home three miles west of Linwood Tuesday afternoon in his 69th year. He was a resident of this community all his life, being born February 23, 1867. The late Mr. Koenig was married 36 years ago to Mary Foerester of Heidelberg. Surviving are his widow, two sons, John H., Jr., of the 11th line Wellesley, and T. Otto at home, one daughter, Mrs. David Heipel of Philipsburg, two grandchildren and two brothers, Adam of Saginaw, and Jacob of Waterloo. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon with services at the home at two o'clock followed by services at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, of which he was a lifelong member. Rev. W. Schultz will be in charge.

    Mrs. Mary Koenig, 70, of Linwood died suddenly at her home Friday night.

    Born in Wellesley Township Dec. 3, 1881, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Foerster.

    She lived in the Linwood district all her life. Mrs. Koenig attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

    Surviving are two sons, John and Otto of Linwood; one daughter, Mrs. David (Delphine) Heipel of Baden; two brothers, George of Waterloo and Jacob of Heidelberg; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Knisel and Mrs. David Cook of Lisbon, Mrs. Fred Dahmer of Waterloo and Mrs. George Glebe of Kitchener and three grandchildren.

    Her husband, John Koenig, predeceased her in 1936. The body will rest at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Sunday noon when removal will be made to her home.

    A private funeral will be held at her home Monday at 2 p.m. followed by a public memorial service at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Linwood, with Rev. Walter Goos officiating.

    On Thursday of last week there were buried in the Lutheran cemetery have the earthly remains of Jacob Foerster, who died of Bright's disease raving been seriously ill only a week. Deceased had been twice married. His first wife died in 1857 and the second one seven years ago. One son of the first wife survives and 2 sons and 2 daughters of the second wife. For a number of years he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. John Rank, Con. 7, Wellesley township. He leaves four brothers, who were present at the funeral, namely, Frederick and Andrew, of Heidelberg, Louis of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Valentine, of Cranbrook, Ont.
