    HENRY SCHMIDT

    BLOOMINGDALE, March 3 - Following a lingering illness, Henry Schmidt, age 50 years, passed away at his home here at 11.30 o'clock last night. Mr. Schmidt, who was born in Erbaville, had farmed here for the part 10 years; He was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Sherrer Schmidt, 14 years ago.

    Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth Kumpf Schmidt, his step-mother Mrs. Barbara Schmidt, St. Jacobs four sons, Earl Schmidt, Kitchener, Eldon, Oscar and Oliver at home, and two daughters, Miss Elma near Winterbourne and Miss Ines in Waterloo, together with four grandchildren. Six brothers, Jacob and Simon of Erbsville, Walter in Waterloo, William of St. Agatha Gordon of Kitchener and Alfred in St. Jacobs, and two sisters, Mrs. Hertman Huehn, Heldelberg and Mrs. Peter Kummer, Mitchell, also survive.

    The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock from the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home In Kitchener to the Heldelberg Lutheran Church for services at 230 pm. Burial will take place in the Erbsville Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. S. J. Wittig, Conestogo. will officiate. The remains will be resting at his late home here until Monday morning when they will be taken to the funeral home.

    MRS. HENRY SCHMIDT

    The sad and untimely death took place at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital Thursday evening of Catherine Scherer, beloved wife of Mr. Henry Schmidt of near St.. Agatha, aged about 33 years. Deceased has been in ill health for several months and has been confined to the hospital for the past three weeks. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss a husband and six children ranging from two, to thirteen years of age Also a mother. three sisters, Mrs. Schmehl, Floradale, Mrs. John Wagner, Freeport, and Miss Elizabeth Scherer, and several brothers. The funeral was held from the residence to the Erbsville cemetery for interment, the date of which will be announced later.

    Many friends will sincerely sympathize with the bereaved family in their loss sustained.

    MRS. MARTIN F. SCHMITT[sic]

    On Monday, 11th inst., death entered the home of Mr. Martin F. Schmidt[sic], a farmer living on the Town line between Woolwich and Waterloo and took from his side the beloved partner of his joy and sorrows for the past 17 years, at the early age of 39 years and 5 months. She suffered from a lingering illness of 19 months. Her maiden name was Catherine Wagner and her father was formerly a resident of Waterloo. She leaves a sorrowing husband and six children, four boys and two girls to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and kind mother. The funeral will take place this (Thursday) afternoon at the Lutheran church, Erbsville. The bereaved [unreadable] have the sympathy of their friends and neighbors in the great affliction which has fallen upon them.

Wagner. who died on or about the 6th day of December, 1910, are required to send by post prepaid, or to deliver to the undersigned Solicitor, or Jacob W. Schmidt of the Township of Woolwich, of the said County of Waterloo, farmer, Executors of the estate of the deceased, on or before the 10th day of March, 1927, their names and addresses with full particulars in writing of their claims and statement of their accounts, and the nature of the security (if any) held by them.

    Another Waterloo Pioneer Gone To Rest.

    Another of the pioneers of the County, Jacob A. Wagner, passed away quietly Tuesday, Dec. 6th, at the home of his grandson, Mr. Jacob W. Schmidt, at the ripe age of 82 years. Deceased was born in Germany in 1828, and came to this country at the age of fourteen and spent his youth- ful days in Waterloo He was married in 1851 in Waterloo to Sophia Hammel. She died two years ago in August They lived for a few years in Waterloo where he followed waggon-making. Then they moved to the farm, where he remained until his death Deceased was able to be up and about until Monday last Since then the infirmities of age have closed rapidly upon him, but his mind was clear until near the last. He attended the Evangelical church, Waterloo. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Wing, and took place at 1 o'clock Friday, to Waterloo for internment. Deceased leaves one daughter, Lucy who has always remained at home.
