    LOUIS BARDON PASSES AWAY

    Well Known Baker Dies Suddenly on Friday at Home on Foundry St.

    Louis Bardon, who for more than quarter of a century has been in the bakery business in Kitchener passed away suddenly Friday morning at 6 o'clock, at his house on, Foundry street Mr. "Bardon had been in failing health for about a year and half but for the past week it was believed that he was improving and hopt for his recovery was held out by his physician and by his family. During the week he was in his motor car every day, tending to some of the smaller detalls of his business. His death comes as a shock to the community in which he was well-known for many years.

    Deceased was born in Germany 56 years ago, and came to this country 34 years ago, when he settled in Waterloo. Three years later he came to this city and has since been engaged in the bakery business on Foundry street. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in which congregation he always took an active part, being secretary of the Church Council for about fifteen years. He was also secretary of the Mutual Aid Society of the church and a member of the choir. For twenty years Mr. Bardon, was presidert of the Concordis Musical Society. He was also a member of the I. O. O. F.

    Deceased is survived by his wife and six children. They are Frederick, Angelica, Katherine, Emma, Eleanor, and Louise. Two brothers, Fred, of Youngstown, Ohio, and William, of Rochester, N. Y., and one sister, Mrs. George Arnold, of Rochester, N. Y also survive. Mr. Bardon was married twice, his first wife, who was a sister of the present Mrs. Bardon, predeceased him seventeen years.

    The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock trom the family residence on Foundry street, and thence to St. Peter's Church, where a funeral service was held. Interment was made at Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Mrs. Louis Bardon

    The death took place at Kitchener on Thursday evening of Theckla Alexandra Rockel, widow of the late Louis Bardon, which occurred at her home in Kitchener following a week's illness, aged 53 years. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon to St. Peter's Lutheran church for service and Mount Hope cemetery for interment.

    The late Mrs. Bardon was born in Waterloo and in 1900 married Louis Bardon, who died in May, 1917. Six children survive, namely, Lily (Mrs. Harry Lewis), Fred, Catharine (Mrs. William Rueffer), Emily, Eleanor and Louise, all of Kitchener. Also three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Henry Brasseler of Toronto, Mrs. George Grosz, Miss Linda Rockel, Carl, Henry and Adolph Rockel, all of Waterloo.

    The funeral of the late Mr. Rockel was held on Saturday afternoon from the late residence on Erb street where services were held and thence to Mount Hope cemetery for interment. There was a large attendance of sorrowing friends and relatives of the deceased while members of the Harmonie Singing Society of which he was a member attended in a body.

    ANOTHER AGED RESIDENT GONE

    Death of Mrs. Andrew Rockel Occurred Sunday after a Lingering Illness


    Another of Waterloo's aged residents passed away on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock in the person of Catherine Rockel, wife of Mr. Andrew Rockel, at the advanced age of 70 years and 14 days. Deceased had been ill for the past two years, being confined to her bed for a good portion of that time. The late Mrs. Rockel was born in Germany on Nov. 17, 1836. When 11 years of age she came to Canada, coming direct to Waterloo. She was married to Mr. Andrew Rockel in 1856. Thirteen children blessed the union, ten of whom survive, namely: Henry, Charles, Gustave, Adolph and Andrew, and five daughters, Sophia (Mrs. Schwartzwelder), Waterloo; Regina (Mrs. Brasseler), Toronto; Teckla (Mrs. Bardon), Berlin; and Linda and Catherine at home. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the late residence, west of Waterloo, where services were conducted by Rev. H. Petschke, of Heidelberg. The interment took place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
