SZOZDA, Florian Joseph - Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's General Hospital, on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Carol (née Lackenbauer) Szozda for 49 years. Loving father of Rose Sonser and her husband George of Waterloo, Joe Szozda and his wife Brenda of Kanata, Tina Bensler and her husband Gary of Heidelberg and Ann Skubowius and her husband Jeff of Shakespeare. Cherished grandpa of twelve. Dear brother of Elizabeth Sandlak of Florida and John Szozda of Kitchener. Also survived by his sister-in-law, Annie Szozda of Guelph. Predeceased by his parents, John and Theresa; brothers, Rudolph, Edward and his wife Emma and Felix; sisters, Vera and Bertha; also by his brother-in-law, Robert Sandlak and his sister-in-law, Marguerite Szozda. Florian's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 16th from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, August 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Parish Prayers 8: 45 p.m.) at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10: 15 a.m. followed by procession to St. Aloysius RC Church, 11 Traynor Ave., Kitchener, for Florian's Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with a reception in the church hall.
