    Lloyd G. Beisel, 42, Bridgeport died Sunday at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., of injuries received when he fell from a scaffold last Thursday in Waterloo.

    Mr. Beisel was working on the Snyders' Ltd., new factory and was handling a plank to a fellow workman in the ground when he fell, breaking his neck and two wrists.

    He had been an employee of Lavern Asmussen Ltd., contractor, for more than a year.

    Born Nov. 23, 1917, in Elmira, he was a son of Norman Beisel and the late Luella Holzworth.

    He married the former Rita Thomas Aug. 27, 1950, in Kitchener and was a former member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Elmira.

    Surviving are five sons, Donald, Paul, David, Douglas and Michael and two daughters, Elizabeth and Carol at home and a brother, Kenneth of Waterford.

    He was also predeceased by a brother Vernon.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, where Rev. H. W. Baetz conducted the funeral Tuesday. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery.

    Lloyd married Rita Thomas 27 Aug 1950, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Rita was born Abt 1920. [Group Sheet]

    BEISEL, Norman P. - On Wednesday, February 21, 1979, at the Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge (P), aged 98 years, of Elmira.

    Husband of the late Luella Holzworth; dear father of Kenneth of Simcoe. Seven grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his sons, Lloyd and Vernon, three brothers and two sisters.

    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 7 pm today. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, February 24, at 2 pm. Interment in the Elmira Cemetery.

    Trapped in Basement of Home

    DELHI - The charred body of Mrs. Norman Beisel, 65, of 32 Water St., Elmira, was recovered late last night from embers of a $30,000 frame farm house which burned to the ground two miles south of here.

    The 11 persons in the house were candling eggs in the basement when flames of unknown origin broke out in the upper storey and were soon roaring through the main floor.

    All but Mrs. Beisel escaped in time. Handbags were forgotten in the scramble to get out.

    In the building with Mrs. Beisel were Mrs. David Tisdale, two sisters, a friend, Mrs. Wilfred Pollard of Lynedoch, and six children.

    Mr. Tisdale was not on his farm at the time and Mrs. Pollard attempted to use the telephone, fast being engulfed in flames, but she was driven back with burns.

    She ran to the near-by farm home of Berton Axford and placed an alarm to the Delhi fire department, but too late to save anything in the house

    CHOKED BY SMOKE

    Mr. Axford ran to the Tisdale home and plunged into the smoke-filled basement through an outside door hoping to save the trapped Mrs. Beisel, but he was forced back outside by the choking smoke.
    Not familiar with the hose, Mrs. Beisel did not know of the outside door.
    Firemen from Delhi fought the blaze until 8 p.m.
    Mrs. Beisel had spent two weeks holidays at Turkey Point with a friend, Mrs. Arthur Arnum of St. Thomas, her daughter-in-law's grandmother. She had planned to return home Sunday but was persuaded to remain for a few more days.
    Her son Kenneth, of Fort Erie was bringing her home when they stopped for a visit at the Tisdale home.

    FUNERAL SUNDAY

    Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Holzworth, Mrs. Beisel was born Jan. 6, 1888. She was a member of St. James's Lutheran Church and of the Ladies Aid Society.
    Surviving are three sons, Vernon, Elmira; Lloyd, Preston, and Kenneth, Fort Erie; four grandchildren, on sister Mrs. Rose Beisel, Elmira, and two brothers, Percy Holzworth, Calgary, ad Emerson, Fort Erie.
    The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 o'clock at St. James's Church. Interment will be I the Elmira cemetery. Rev. H.W. Baetz will conduct the services. The body will rest at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until 1 p.m. Sunday when removal will be made to the church.

    There passed away, at his home on Church Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, April 11, Louis Beisel, a pioneer of the district, at the age of 85 year and 35 days.

    Although he had not been in the best of health for the past several months, the late Mr. Beisel had counted on the celebration of his 65th wedding anniversary, which he and his wife would have observed on Friday, April 14th.

    He leaves to mourn his loss his wife (nee Adaline Eix), two daughters, Mrs. Jake Ritter and Mrs. Arthur Klinck, and four sons, William, Addison, Norman and Theodore, as well as 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, at two o'clock, at the house thence to St. James' Lutheran church for service. Interment will take place in the Elmira Cemetery.

    ELMIRA, May 11.-Mrs. Louis Beisel, nee Adeline Eix, age 87, died early this morning at her home in Elmira.

    She had been in failing health for several years. She was born near Hawkesville on the Eix homestead where she lived until her marriage to Louis Beisel in 1874. Following her marriage, she resided in Woolwich Township and later on the Beisel farm one mile west of Elmira until 16 years ago, when the family moved to Elmira. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

    Her husband predeceased her four years ago. Surviving are four sons, William, Addison, Norman and Theodore of Elmira, two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Ritter (Catherine) of near Conestogo and Mrs. Arthur Klinck, (Parseda?) of Elmira, two brothers, Henry Eix of Elmira, and Charles Eix of Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Amos Eby and Mrs. John Ritter of Elmira. There are also 18? grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren surviving.

    The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from her late residence, Church Street West, with memorial service at St. James Lutheran Church. The burial will take place in the Elmira Cemetery. Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch will officiate. The body is resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel until Friday morning.

    ELMIRA, Nov. 15 - Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Mary Ann Holzworth, 86, died at her farm home, R.R. 1, Elmira, last night. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koch of Woolwich Township, she was born Sept. 16, 1862, on the farm where her death occurred. She resided there all her life.

    Her husband, the late George Holzworth, predeceased her Sept. 9, 1916. She was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira, and a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

    Surviving are three sons, Percy, Calgary, Alta.; Oscar at home; and Emerson, Fort Erie; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Luella) Beisel, and Mrs. William (Rosa) Beisel, both of Elmira. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

    The body will rest at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira until 1 p.m. Thursday when removal will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira for service at 2: 30 o'clock. Friends are asked to pay their respects at the church prior to the service. Rev. Frank Malinsky will officiate. Interment will be made in the Elmira Cemetery.
