A New Hamburg man is dead after a major crash in London.

Police say 23-year-old Cory Andrews of New Hamburg, and 46-year-old Jerry Pitre of London died in the crash.

Investigators say a car travelling at high speed collided with the driver's side of another car in the intersection of Highbury Avenue and Dundas Street on Thursday morning.

Two of the four occupants of the car that was hit were killed and the driver and third passenger were taken to hospital.

31-year-old Scott Altiman of Delaware faces multiple charges including two counts of impaired driving causing death, two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, two counts of criminal negligence causing death, and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

He remains in the hospital in serious condition.
