    With love in her Lord, her family and friends, we mournfully announce her passing at St. Mary's Hospital on October 24th, 2012 at 98 years of age.

    Loving wife and friend to the late Ralph Doerr (1992). Mae is survived by her sister Ruth (Gordon Ribey) of Port Elgin.
    Auntie Mae will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews Mary Louise Reid, John Reid, Nancy Sharpe, Judith Kocher, Kim Current, Stephanie Klisowsky, Terry Pfaff, Gaye Fraser and Cathie Winhold along with several great nieces and nephews.

    A special thank you to her care givers nephew Jim Hahn and niece Marilew West for all the years of special attention and love.
    Mae was born on a farm four miles south of Port Elgin in Bruce County to the late Charlie and Janet Johnson. Three sisters have predeceased her, Grace Murray, Phyllis Smith and Edna Reid. Mae married in Port Elgin then several years later, moved to New Hamburg where she was employed with Bell Canada for 26 years.

    Following her retirement from Bell, she worked 14 years for the Waterloo County School Board of Education as school secretary. She served as treasurer for 27 years at Zion United Church. Then in 1968, she served as a representative, chairwoman and secretary of Presbytery. She also sat on the Board of Directors of Parkwood Manor. She was a avid bridge player and supporter of the Arts Community.

    She and Ralph moved to Kitchener from New Hamburg in 1987. Her love of church community continued at Trinity United church where she enjoyed the fellowship of the Mr. & Mrs. Club.

    An invitation is extended to family and friends to come together for a period of visitation at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener on Friday, October 26th from 2 till 4 and in the evening from 7 till 9 pm.
    A funeral service will be held in the Chapel Saturday at 3 pm with Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating. A reception will be held in the funeral home following the service.

    A graveside service will be held on arrival of motors Monday at 1 pm in Port Elgin Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony or The Grand Philharmonic Choir would be greatly appreciated.
