    Of 1600 Fairview Rd., Preston, Cambridge, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Friday, September 27, 1974, Ivan Sehiedel; beloved husband of Adeline Snyder; dear father of Cameron and Richard of Route 2, Preston and Fern of Preston, in his 72nd year, Mr. Schiedel was born in Woolwich Township and had lived in Preston and area for a number of years and was employed at the Fairview Mennonite Home, was a member of Preston Mennonite Church; also survived by one sister, Laura (Mrs. Allen Weber) of Route 1, Elmira and six grandchildren; predeceased by his first wife, Ellen Hallman, in 1957 and one brother, Almer of Kitchener. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, corner of Queen and Argyle Sts., Preston, Cambridge, until noon Monday, then to the Preston Mennonite Church for funeral service, at 2: 30 p.m. Interment in Hagey cemetery.

    Schiedel, Isaac M., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schiedel; born April 5, 1870, at Kossuth, Ont.; died Nov. 15, 1958, at Galt, Ont.; aged 88y. 7 m. 10 d. Married to Susannah Ernst, who preceded him in death March 4, 1951. Surviving are 3 children (Almer, Ivan E., and Laura-Mrs. Allen Weber), 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Kitchener, Ont., where funeral services were held Nov. 17, in charge of Edgar Metzler and C. F. Derstine; burial in adjoining cemetery.

    Schiedel, -- Susannah, daughter of the late Jacob and Rebecca (Hagey) Ernst, was born in Wilmot Twp., June 27, 1870; passed away at her home in Waterloo, Ont., March 4, 1951; aged 80 y. 8 m. 5 d. She was married to Isaac M. Schiedel. She is survived by her husband, 2 sons (Almer, Kitchener; Ivan, Preston, Ont.), 1 daughter (Mrs. Laura Weber, Elmira, Ont.), 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. Funeral services were conducted by C.F. Derstine and Oscar Burkholder. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Hallman. - George S., oldest son of Abraham and Mary Hallman, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., May 9, 1856; died at his home near New Dundee, Ont., Nov. 7, 1934; aged 78 y. 5 m. 28 d. On March 21, 1882, he was united in matrimony to Veronica Heckendorn. To this union were born 3 sons and 5 daughters. One daughter (Mary Edna) predeceased him. After his marriage he, with his companion, located on a farm near Roseville, Ont., where they resided for 16 years. In 1891, they gave themselves to the Lord, and united with the Mennonite Church. They became members of the Detwiler congregation. In 1895 he was ordained a deacon for this congregation, and as long as his health permitted he fulfilled his office in an exemplary and conscientious manner. He always had a deep concern for the cause of the Lord. He had been in failing health for nearly a year. He leaves his wife and 3 sons (Arthur of New Dundee, Anson of Preston, and Edgar on the home farm); also 4 daughters (Vera at home, former missionary in Argentina, Maylinda -- Mrs. Omar Snider of New Dundee, Ellen -- Mrs. Ivan Schiedel of Preston, and Salome -- Mrs. Clarence Schantz of Preston); 16 grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters. Funeral services were held Nov. 10, in charge of M. H. Shantz, with services at the home and also at the Blenheim Mennonite Church. Bro. Manasseh Hallman preached, text, Heb. 11: 13,14. Burial in the Detwiler Cemetery near Roseville.

On March 21, 1882, she was united in marriage to George S. Hallman, the late deacon, who predeceased her in 1934. Mrs. Ivan Schiedel, Preston, Ontario; and Salome ? Mrs. Clarence Schantz, Freeport, Ont.), 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters (Susanna ? Mrs. John Brubaker, of Maryland; and Maryann ? Mrs. Ezra Geiger, Waterloo Twp.). Two daughters (Edna and Malinda ? Mrs. Omar Snider) predeceased her. She and her husband accepted Christ in the J. S. Coffman revival of 1891 and remained members of the Mennonite Church and of the Detwiler congregation as long as they lived. Funeral services were conducted at the Detwiler Church on June 9 by Moses S. Bowman and Manasseh Hallman, followed by interment in the Detwiler Cemetery.

    Ernst.-Rebecca Hagey was born Feb. 19, 1842, departed this life Oct. 15, 1926; at the ripe age of 84 y. 7 m. 27 d. 64 years ago she was married to Jacob Ernst who predeceased her in October, 1904. To this union were born 5 children, of whom one, Mary Ann, has passed on to the great beyond. There remain to mourn a loving Christian mother, 2 sons, 3 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Sister Ernst united with the Mennonite Church at the age of 17, and for 67 years she was a faithful member. As God gave her a long, useful life may He now grant her an eternal peace. Funeral services were held form the home of her son David, Preston, Ont., on Oct. 18, thence to the Shantz church, near Baden, Ont. where her body was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Bros. U. K. Weber, Orphen Wismer, and Oscar Burkholder had charge of the services. Text, 1 Cor. 13: 13.

    Heckendorn.-Maria Good was born in the township of Waterloo on Dec. 29, 1837, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Underwood, Bridgeport, Ont., Feb. 22, 1920. On June 27, 1858, she was married to John Heckendorn, who predeceased her about three years. To this union were born ten children, of whom eight are still living. She leaves 8 children, 47 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Feb. 25th from Bridgeport to the Cressman church, Breslau, Ont. Services were conducted by Oscar Burkholder.
