    Notes:

BOGUE, HENRY was one of those men who made a brief appearance on the local scene. The Canada Gazette reported on October 18, 1856, that he had been granted his licence to practice. As this item was duly repeated in the Berlin Telegraph, it is assumed
that there was some local interest in the announcement.

It was not until December 12, 1867, that the Canadisch Volksblatt carried his card:

    Henry Bogue A. B. M. D. , L. M. B. , U. C. Physician, "'Surgeon, &c Haysville.
Eye, Ear and Chest diseases, Bilious complaints, Inflammation, Fever , Abdominal complaints, &c. , have been treated by him with success for years. All surgical cases provided with prompt attention.

There are two different reports as to the origin of his Arts degree, but his medical degree came from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the City of New York, in 1858. L. M. B. U. C. merely indicates that he was a licentiate of the Medical Board of Upper Canada.

His card next appeared in the Volksblatt on February 17, 1868, this time his location was New Hamburg. The only further information came from the Ontario Medical Registers from 1870 to 1874, listing him in Rogerville, Huron County.
