If there is a resounding theme when asking anyone about Brian Reid, it's that the man was extremely bright.

An entrepreneur, journalist and former editor at the Globe and Mail, the Cambridge Times and the Waterloo Region Record as well as cofounder of the Milton Observer, Brian cut a wide swath in the world of journalism.

"He was really smart, one of the smartest people I've known," said long time friend and fellow journalist, Barb Aggerholm. "He challenged me."

Brian was born in Ottawa, one of three sons and though he had his sights set on a journalism career, Western University cancelled its program, switching enrolled students to an English degree......
