    Snyder - David B., son of Frank Snyder, was born Aug. 22, 1896; died Feb. 7, 1941; aged 44 y. 5 m. 16 d. On Jan. 18, 1921, he was married to Barbara Gingrich. This marriage was blessed with 4 children, 3 of whom survive: Wayne, Melvin, and Leighton, all at home. Besides, there remain to mourn his loss, his wife, his aged mother (Mrs. Frank Snyder), 1 sister, and 5 brothers: Ira of St. Jacobs, Barbara (Mrs. Simeon Martin) of Heidelberg, Israel and Amos of Columbiana, Ohio, John of St. Jacobs, and Elias of Kitchener. He united with the Mennonite Church in 1918 and remained a member until death. He died after of an illness of about two weeks, following an operation for gallstones. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church with Bros. Roy S. Koch and Bishop Oliver D. Snider in charge. Burial was made in the Conestoga Cemetery.

    Snyder.- Franklin B., son of Christian and Barbara (Bauman) Snyder, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Jan. 10, 1856; died May 17, 1937, at the home of his son Ira after an illness of seven weeks; aged 81 y. 4 m. 7 d. He was a member of the Mennonite Church for many years and attended services whenever health permitted. He was united in marriage to Magdalene Brubaker who survives. He is also survived by the following children: Ira of near Hawksville, Ont.; Barbara (Mrs. Simeon Martin) of Heidelburg, Ont.; Israel and Amos of Columbiana, Ohio; David of near Waterloo, Ont.; John of Baden, Ont.; Elias of Kitchener, Out. Funeral services were held on May 19 at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, conducted by Bros. Abram Bearinger, Jonas Snider, and Roy Koch.

    Christian B. Schneider, "the only son of Joseph Schneider, Jr., was born October 18th, 1824. On October 31st, 1848, he was married to Barbara, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Baumann. She was born December 11th, 1825. Some time after their marriage they moved on his father's large farm containing 448 acres which he has since purchased. He and his wife still reside on the old homestead but the large farm has been divided into three farms, the east end is possessed by his son, Joseph, the central part by his son, Franklin, and the west end with the old buildings is possessed by Israel B. Gingerich, his son-in-law. Mr. Schneider has a family of ten children"

    SNYDER - On the 27th of February, 1897, in Waterloo Co., Ont., of diphtheria, Christian B. Snyder, aged 72 years, 4 months, 9 days, He had been in feeble health for several days, when three days before his death, diphtheria in malignant form developed, which baffled the skill of the best medical aid, and he sank rapidly until death released him. His remains were followed to their earthly resting place at the Martin M.H. on the 2d of March, by a large concourse of friends. Funeral services by Paul Martin and Joseph Gingerich. Deceased was born in Waterloo Co., on the 18th of October 1824. He united with the Mennonite church at an early age. On the 31st of October, 1848, he was married to Barbara Bowman who with five children survive to mourn the loss of a devoted companion, affectionate father and devout Christian. Five children preceded him.

    HAD MANY DESCENDANTS PIONEER LAID TO REST.

    The funeral of the late John M. Brubacher of near St. Jacob, was beld on Monday and was very largely attended. It was held from the residence of the deceased's son-in-law, David Sauder, near Elmira.

    The late Mr. Brubacher was 81 years old and is survived by 69 grand children and seven great grand children.

She was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, September 26th, 1794, and died in Waterloo Township, February 11th, 1838. After her death he was again married, March 31st 1839, to Anna Catharine Weicker who was born November 21st, 1813, and died April 12th 1890. No issue of second married. On March 20th, 1820 he moved on his farm, lot No. 63, German Company Tract, where he resided until his death which took place February 21st, 1874. To him and his first wife were born two children"

    Joseph Baumann, "son of Wendel and Mary (Huber) Baumann, grandson of Christian Baumann, and great grandson of the old progenitor, Wendel Baumann, was born in the Alleghany Valley, Berks County, Pennsylvania, March 8th, 1796. In May, 1819, he left his native home and came to Canada, arriving at old Abraham Erb's place in Waterloo, some time in the month of June. After being here for a few weeks he engaged himself to Abraham Erb to manufacture flour barrels, and other ware belonging to the coopering trade. He had his home with old Christian Schantz who resided on a large farm, about one and one-half miles south-east of Berlin, now in possession Aaron B. Shantz. Here he formed the acquaintance of Anna, the eldest daughter of Christian Shantz, whom he married September 23rd, 1821. She was born October 19th, 1801, and died October 19th, 1822, aged 21 years. This union, although of but thirteen months duration, was blessed with one child, a daughter named Anna, who was born July 16th, 1822, and died August 10th, 1822, aged 25 days. After the decease of his wife he still continued in the services of old Abraham Erb, and had his home with his father-in-law. Some time during the year 1824 he formed an acquaintance with Elizabeth, daughter of George and Barbara (Good) Hoffman. She was born February 12th, 1795. On February 20th, 1825 they were married. In the spring of the same year they moved on their farm, being composed of lot No. 27, German Company's Tract. Here they resided until their deaths. He died December 21st, 1864, and she died May 6th, 1879. Their family consists of seven children,"

He came to Canada in 1825 but returned to Pennsylvania the same fall. In the spring of 1826 he came back to Canada and had his home with his friends. On July 24th, 1827, he was married to Catharine, daughter of David and Maria (Guth) Martin. She was born November 25th, 1808. They moved on their farm, being composed of lot No. 17, German Company's Tract, Woolwich Township, about three miles west of St. Jacobs where they resided until his death which took place March 12th, 1886. She is still living and quite smart for a woman of so great an age. Her home is with her daughter, Eva, who resides on the old homestead. He was ordained as a deacon of the Mennonite Church on Ascension Day, 1847, and served the church of his choice to the best of his knowledge until his death. Their family consisted of thirteen children"

    BRUBACHER. - On the 1st of Feb., 1895, near St. Jacobs, Waterloo Co., Ont., of old age, sister Catherine Martin, widow of the late Pre. John W. Brubacher, aged 86 years. Buried in the Conestoga Mennonite graveyard. Funeral services by Abraham and Paul Martin. Deceased was born in Lancaster Co., Pa. In 1820 she came to Canada, was united in matrimony with Bro. Brubacher in 1827. To this union were born nine sons and four daughters, of whom four sons and four daughters survive. Her funeral was largely attended.
