    SNYDER, Stanley Edmund - Of 90 Charlotta St., Baden, on Tuesday, June 25, 1985, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Stanley Snyder, aged 54 years.

    He was a member of the Mannheim Mennonite Church and enjoyed his employment as a bulldozer operator at E & E Seegmiller Construction Limited for 28 years.

    Beloved son of Percy Snyder of Baden and the late Rachel Rudy, who predeceased him in 1984. Lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Jacky Affeldt, whom he married May 29, 1954; dear father of John of Baden, Jo-Anne of Kitchener, David and his wife Esther of Elmira, Brian of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his brothers, Melvin and his wife Annabelle of Erbsville, Lincoln and his wife Ann of Hawksville, Ralph and his wife Ruth of Burbank, Calif., Lorne and his wife Doris of Calgary, Alta., and Kenneth of Vancouver, B.C.; his sisters, Helen and her husband Carl Grenzebach of Kitchener, Jeanne and her husband Lorne Lichty of Mercersburg, Penn.

    Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. this evening, until Friday, June 28, 1985 at noon, when transfer will be made to the Mannheim Mennonite Church, for the service at 2 o'clock with Rev. James Reusser officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the building fund of Mannheim Mennonite Church.

    MR. AND MRS. PERCY SNYDER

    Percy Snyder and Rachel Ann Rudy were married 60 years ago, June 4, 1919, in Bloomingdale.

    Mrs. Snyder is a daughter of William and Rachel Rudy. Mr. Snyder is a son of Christian and Ester Snyder.

    The celebrants have eight children; Melvin of Waterloo, Helen of Kitchener, Lincoln of Hawkesville, Jeanne of Newville, Pa., Stanley of Baden, Ralph of Burbank, Calif., Lorne of Calgary, Alta., and Kenneth of Vancouver, B.C. There are 29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

    Celebrations will be held June 3, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Baden Mennonite Church, Snyders Road, Baden. Best wishes only, please.
    Mr. and Mrs. Snyder were farmers and butchers in the Mannheim area for 32 years. They attended the Kitchener, Farmers Market from 1919 to 1955. They have special interest in woodworking, reading, painting and flowers.

    The couple live at 18 Queen St., Baden.

    SNYDER, Mrs. Rachel Ann - Of 18 Queen St., Baden, died after a lengthy illness, on Monday, July 2, 1984, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. She was born 86 years ago, daughter of the late William Rudy and Rachel Reist.

    She was a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the WMSC and was also a member of the Baden Senior Citizen's.

    Beloved wife of Percy Snyder, whom she married June 4, 1919; lovingly remembered by her sons, Mel- vin and his wife Annabelle of Erbsville, Lincoln and his wife Ann of Hawkesville, Stanley and his wife Jacqueline of Baden, Ralph and his wife Ruth of Burbank, Calif., Lorne and his wife Doris of Calgary, Alta.. Kenneth of Vancouver, B.C.; her daughters, Helen (Mrs. Carl Grenzebach) of Kitchener, Jeanne (Mrs. Lorne Lichty) of Mercersburg, Pa.; dear sister of Jacob of Cambridge and Abner of Waterloo.

    Predeceased by one brother, Omar; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bechtel, Mrs. Martha Thaler and Mrs. Sarah Schiedel. Sadly missed by 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

    Snyder-Christian B., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses K. Snyder, was born in Wilmot Twp., Jan. 12, 1862; passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ephraim Knetchel, Petersburg, Ont., April 19, 1944; aged 83y. Bro. Snyder's death was due to a heart attack a few days previous. He suffered from a weak heart for a number of years. He was married to Esther Bechtel who predeceased him June 4, 1940. To this union were born one son and 3 daughters; Percy, Rosebank; Edna ( Mrs. Ephraim Knechtel); Avon ( Mrs. Willard Witmer), Rosebank; and Ida (Mrs. Simon Hallman,) Kitchener, Ont.; who along with one brother (Moses), 28 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren all survive him. Bro. Snyder was a member of the Latschar church for many years. He was a quiet man, but he gave a silent testimony wherever he went because of his consistent life as a Christian. "He being dead, yet speaketh" Funeral services were conducted April 21 at his home in charge of Bro. Lorne W. Schmitt and at the Latschar Mennonite Church by Brethren M.S. Hallman and Lorne Schmitt. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

    Snyder. --- Esther, daughter of Noah and Veronica (Christner) Bechtel, was born Dec. 5, 1863; died at her home near Petersburg, Ont., united in marriage to Christian B. Snyder Oct. 7, 1885, to which union were born 1 son and 3 daughters: Percy, Edna (Mrs. Ephraim Knechtel) Avon (Mrs. Willard Witmer), all of Petersburg, and Ida (Mrs. Simon Hallman) of Kitchener. She is survived by 27 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; also by 2 brothers (Moses Bechtel of Winnipeg, Man., and Noah Bechtel of Breslau, Ont.), and a host of relatives and friends. She was a faithful and loyal member of the Latschar Mennonite Church until her death, having accepted Christ in her late teens. Funeral services were conducted by Bros. Manasseh Hallman and Lorne Schmitt, Bro. Hallman using for his test Psa. 27: 1. The services were held at the home and at the Latschar Mennonite Church. The body was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Her testimony is well expressed in the following poem:
    "Is not even death a gain to those
    Whose life to God was given?
    Gladly to earth their eyes they close,
    To open them in Heaven."

    Rudy.--William, son of the late Benjamin Rudy, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., April 24, 1864; died Sept. 8, 1947; aged 83 y. 4 m. 14 d. He was married to Rachel Reist; she preceded him in death in February, 1938. Surviving are 3 sons (Jacob, Waterloo, Ont.; Omar, Westmontrose, Ont.; and Abner, New Hamburg, Ont.), 4 daughters (Mary--Mrs. E. Bechtel, Mannheim, Ont.; Martha--Mrs. Harry Thaler, Centerville, Ont.; Rachel--Mrs. Percy Snyder, Mannheim, Ont.; and Sarah--Mrs. Almer Scheidel, Kitchener, Ont.), one brother (Jeremiah, Waterloo, Ont.), and 2 sisters (Mrs. Simeon Gingerich, Kitchener, Ont.; and Mrs. Lucy Blodgett, Rochester, N.Y.). He was a faithful, punctual church-goer and taught his family to worship God. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 10 by Howard W. Stevanus at the Waterloo Mennonite Church

    Centreville, Sept. 8: - A well-known farmer in the Centreville area for many years and a member of the Waterloo Mennonite Church, William Rudy, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Almer Schiedel, 66 Homewood Ave., Kitchener, Saturday,after a brief illness. He was 83.

    Born in Wellesley Tp. on April 23, 1864, he was the son of the late Mr.and Mrs. Benjamin Rudy. Mr. Rudy's wife, Mrs. Rachel (Reist) Rudy predeceased him in Feb. 1938. He is survived by three sons, Jacob, Waterloo; Omar, West Montrose and Abner, New Hamburg; also four daughters, Mrs. Eden Bechtel and Mrs. Percy Snyder, both of Mannheim; Mrs. Harry Thaler, Centreville and Mrs. AlmerSchiedel, Kitchener. Mr. Rudy is also survived by one brother, Jeremiah, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Simeon Gingrich, Kitchener and Mrs. Lucy Blodgett of Rochester, N.Y.

    Funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday from the Waterloo Mennonite Church and burial will be in the Waterloo Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. Howard Stevanus of Bloomingdale will conduct the service. The body is now resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where it will remain until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born in Woolwich Tp. , Aug. 17, 1862, a daughter of the late Jacob and Rachel Reist. Dec. 14, 1890, she was married to William Rudy. Surviving are her husband and 3 sons (Jacob of Waterloo, Omar near Bloomingdale, and Abner of New Hamburg) , 4 daughters (Mrs. Eden Bechtel of New Dundee, Mrs. Harry Thaler of Centerville, Mrs. Percy Snider of Petersburg, Mrs. Elmer Schiedel of Bridgeport) , 31 grandchildren, 1 brother (Jacob Reist of German Mills) , and 1 sister (Mrs. Benjamin Lichty of German Mills) . She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour in her youth. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church and a regular attendant and worshiper at the Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo. "Blesse dare the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth, yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them".     Herman Carl Affelt, 80 years, passed away at his home in Centreville on Tuesday, Aug. 1st. Surviving are six sons Herman S., and Joseph, R.R. No. 3, Kitchener, Abraham, Kitchener, John, Harry and Albert, R.R. No. 3, Kitchener, and five daughters, Mrs. Albert Held, Kitchener, Mrs. O. Hohstedler, Kitchener, Miss Mary and Miss Edith Affelt and Mrs. H. Preston, R.R. No. 3, survive. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon from Schreiter's Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery. Dr. H. A. Sperling of St. Peter's Church, officiated.

    George Kimpel

    PRESTON, Sept. 25\emdash George Kimpel, lifelong district resident and resident of Preston for the past 44 years, died at his home, 119 Tiffany St., yesterday afternoon at the age of 89 years. Ailing for some time he had been seriously ill since Friday. Born in Speedsville, near Preston, Mr. Kimpel resided there until the time of his marriage to the late Elizabeth Kalb in 1879, when he moved to Doon and employed in the brickyard there for some years. Later he moved to the township line between North and South Waterloo where he farmed for a number of years. Coming to Preston in 1903, he resided here since that time. For 30 years he was employed in the crating department at Clare Bros., after which he worked with the Canadian National Railway for two years. In 1924 he assumed duties as caretaker of the R.C. cemetery, continuing in this capacity until 1931, when he retired. Highly interested in the Preston Horticultural Society, of which he was an enthusiastic member, Mr. Kimpel campaigned in the interest of the society. He was a charter member of the 1.O.O.F., in Doon and was a former member of the C.O.F., Preston, for some years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Louis Southern, Birmingham, Mich., Mrs. Earl Stuart, Preston, Mrs. John Affeldt, of Penetanguishene, Ont.; five sons, George and Thomas of Galt, William, Albert and Ernest of Preston. Twenty grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive. His wife predeceased him in 1933, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Mattes, also died in 1933. The remains will rest at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Kimpel, 654 North St., Preston, until Friday at 1 p.m. Service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at 2: 30 Friday. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery.
