    BOND, ANNA BELLE

    At Galt, a well known resident, on Monday, June 13, 1949, at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Fyfe, 224 Water St. N. , in her 86th year. She was born in Wellington County, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John

    Bond. Miss Bond was an active member of Lincoln Ave. United Church, a member of the Y. W. C. A. and a graduate nurse from Boston City Hospital. Survived by three sisters, Minerva (Mrs. Angus Clark) of Vancouver; Eleanor (Mrs. A. P. Lyon) of Louisville, Kentucky; Ruth (Mrs. John Fyfe) of Galt; two brothers, Christopher of R. R. #2, Hespeler; and Ervine of Prince Albert, SK. Service at the T. Little and Son Funeral Home on Thurs. , June 16 at 2. Rev. S. E. Stevenson of Lincoln Avenue officiated. The funeral was largely attended by friends and relatives from Toronto, Hamilton, Copetown, Kitchener, Puslinch, Hespeler, St. George, Sheffield and Vancouver. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.

    BOND, JOHN

    On Sunday, June 3, 1906, at 3: 30 a. m. , aged 71 years and 11 months. Mr. Bond lived at Little's Corners, near Galt, until about forty years ago, when he removed to Puslinch, near the Lake School, having married Elizabeth Ricker of Sheffield. The couple had two sons (now at home) and seven daughters, two of the latter being deceased. Surviving are: Miss Bond, a nurse in Boston; Mrs. William Little of Puslinch; Mrs. Angus Clark of Vancouver; Miss Ruth, a nurse in Boston; Miss Eleanor, at home. Mr. Bond was a Methodist. He never had any serious illness before but had been failing for some months and took to his bed two weeks ago, gradually sinking after that. The two daughters from Boston, who are trained nurses, were continuously at his bedside but despite the most tender care, his strength gradually ebbed away and death came quietly and peacefully, surrounded by all of the family except Mrs. Clark, who is in Vancouver. In politics, Mr. Bond was a consistent Conservative. Funeral from his late residence, "Lakeside Farm" on Tuesday at 1. Interment Hespeler Cemetery. The largely attended service was conducted by Rev. A. M. Hamilton.

His children were: Anna Bella (b. 1864); Ellen (b. 1866); Lillie D. (born c. 1867); Emma Catherine (b. Dec. 6, 1868); Alice E. (b. 1870); Minerva (b. 1872); Ruth Etta (b. 1874); Mary Eleanor (b. May 20, 1876); Christopher Ricker (b. Nov. 23, 1879); and Wilfred Irvin (b. Jan. 31, 1883).

    BOND, ELIZABETH (Nee Ricker)

    Former Resident of Puslinch dies in Galt


    One of Galt's grand old ladies, Mrs. John Bond, of 13 Lowrey Ave. S. in Galt, on Monday morning at 1: 15, February 17, 1936, in her 92nd year, after five weeks' illness. She had been quite active and bright until five weeks ago, when illness forced her to bed. She was a member of a pioneer Beverly Township farm, born at Sheffield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Ricker, and lived in this district all her life. Following her marriage on June 3, 1906 to the late John Bond, who predeceased her nearly thirty years ago, she resided for many years on the Lake Road in Puslinch, on the farm now occupied by her son, C. R. Bond. She was a faithful member of the United Church in Hespeler for many years and since she moved to Galt ten years ago, she has been a member of Lincoln Avenue United Church and a staunch supporter of the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies' Aid. Right up to the time of her illness, Mrs. Bond retained an active interest in the affairs of the day. She also went out often herself and as recently as New Year's Day, she was a guest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Fyfe of North Water St. , Galt. Last October 31, she celebrated her 91st birthday at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Herbert Eltherington in Hespeler. Survived by two sons, C. R. Bond of Puslinch; W. Irvine, in Saskatoon; five daughters, Miss Annabelle at home; Mrs. W. J. Little of Willow Grove Farm in Puslinch; Mrs. Angus Clark of Vancouver; Mrs. Ruth Fyfe of 224 North Water St. , Galt; Mrs. Rev. A. P. Lyon of Louisville, KY; one sister, Mrs. Sanford Munson of the Galt-Hamilton highway; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral on Wed. , Feb. 19 at 2: 30 from the residence. Rev. C. H. Woltz, minister of Lincoln Avenue Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Hunt of Hespeler. Arthur Eltherington of Preston sang a solo "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Pallbearers: George Panabaker of Toronto; Herbert Eltherington of Hespeler; Earl Bond of Crieff; Orval Bond of Paris; Russell Hattrick of Sheffield; and Elmer Munson of the Galt-Hamilton highway.
