    Wismer, Raymond George

    Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Wednesday April 9, 2014. Ray resided in Kitchener and was born 71 years ago in East Zorra Township. He was the son of the late Harold & Vera (Nafziger) Wismer.

    Beloved husband of Sharon (Taves) Wismer who he married July 23, 1966. Loving father of Michelle & husband Peter Lacrosse of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his step-grandson Declan. Dear brother of Eleanor Roth of New Hamburg. Remembered by his mother-in-law Verna Taves of Kitchener, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Betty Finnigan of Perth, Jerry & Marilyn Taves of Kitchener, John & Sue Taves of Cambridge, Len Taves of Kitchener and also a number of nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his brother Melvin Wismer, father-in-law John Taves and brothers-in-law Gerald Roth and Don Finnigan.

    Ray was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. He enjoyed golfing with his good friends at Doon Valley and also many outdoor activities. Ray retired after 31 years of service with Lear Seating Ltd.

    Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will take place on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden with Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck and Pastor Ilene Bergen officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Lisaard House, Cambridge, Steinmann Mennonite Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

    WISMER, HAROLD W., son of Mrs. and Mrs. Dilman Wismer, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Jan 10, 1908; died while at work in Kitchener, Ont., Feb. 27, 1968; aged 60 y. 1 m. 17 d. On July 1, 1938, he was married to Vera Nafziger, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children (Eleanor--Mrs. Gerry Roth, Raymond, and Melvin) and 2 brothers (Norval and Melvin). Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He was a member of the Steinman Church, where funeral services were held Mar. 1, with Elmer Schwartzentruber and Orland Gingerich officiating.

    HAROLD WISMER

    Harold Wismer, 10 Byron St., New Hamburg, died suddenly February 27 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was 60.

    Mr. Wismer was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dilman Wismer.

    A resident of New Hamburg for the past 10 years, he was employed with B.F. Goodrich Canada Ltd., Kitchener. He was a member of the Steinman Mennonite Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Vera Nafziger; two sons, Raymond of Kitchener and Melvin at home; one daughter, Mrs. Gerry (Eleanor) Roth, New Hamburg; two brothers, Norval, Battle Creek, Mich., and Melvin, Kitchener, and two grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother predeceased him.

    The body was a Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home until noon last Friday, when removal was made to Steinman Mennonite Church for the afternoon service. Bishop Orland Gingrich and Rev. Elmer Swartzentruber officiated.

    Temporary entombment was in Graff Memorial Chapel and Interment will follow later in Steinman Mennonite Cemetery.

    Dillman G. Wismer - By Record Correspondent

    Baden, Dec. 22 - following a lingering illness, Dillman G. Wismer, 81, died at his residence, north of Baden, today. A resident of this district all his life, Mr. Wismer was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wismer and was born on the Wismer homestead, which has been his home for some time. He was married at New Hamburg on Feb. 28, 1900. He was a member of the Reformed Mennonite church.

    Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Lorne Mank of Kitchener, and Loretta at home, three sons, Norval of Battle Creek, Mich., Melvin and Harold at home, one brother, Henry, of Penner, Alta.

    NAFZIGER, DANIEL - Of the Brunner Nursing Home, formerly of Wellesley. Passed away Sunday at his home. Born in Mornington Township, 88 years ago.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Nafziger, he had farmed in Wilmot township, retiring to Wellesley in 1958. Member of the Maple View Mennonite Church. Father of Elmer of Waterloo, Emerson of Route 1, Tavistock, Floyd of Route 1, Breslau, Leonard of Conestogo, Vera (Mrs. Harold Wismer) of Wellesley, Edna (Mrs. Laverne Zehr) of Bright, Betty (Mrs. Gerald Steffler) and Dorothy (Mrs. Alvin Martin) both of Waterloo, Erma (Mrs. Lyle Coverett) of Tutinga, Cal.; dear brother of Samuel and Menno, both of Brunner, Amos of Wellesley, Solomon of Carthage, N.Y., and Mary Nafziger of Brunner; also survived by 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, the former Nancy Erb, in 1974; also by one son, Vernon and one daughter, Alice; also by one brother and one sister.

    Friends may call at the Futher Bros Funeral Home, Wellesley where the family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. At noon Wednesday, September 15, the remains will be removed to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2:30 Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple View Mennonite Cemetery.

    The late Mrs. Nafziger will be resting at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home after 2 p.m. on Friday, until noon Sunday, when removal will be made to Maple View Mennonite Church for memorial service at 2:30. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Alvin Leis will officiate.
