    Clifford passed away suddenly at his residence. Beloved husband of the late Alice (nee) Sutton (2005). Predeceased by his son, David. Proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. Will be fondly remembered by brothers, Bob of Kitchener, Floyd of Waterloo and Billy of Alberta. Predeceased by his brother, Arnold "Arnie." Mr. Bast was a retired employee of Labatts where he worked for many years.

    Notes:

    George E. Bast of Wellesley was found dead in his bed Friday morning, having suffered a heart attack during the night. Mr. Bast, a retired farmer, was in his 75th year. He was born in Wellesley township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Bast, Sr., German immigrants. He was a member of Maple View Amish Men- nonite Church. His wife, nee Annie Schrag, passed away ten years ago. Surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. G. Bast, Wellesley, six sons, George of Wellesley, Solomon in Wilmot, Aaron at Bridgeport, Moses in Waterloo Simon of Baden, and William at home, together with 17 grandchildren, six brothers and six sisters.

    The funeral was held Sunday.

The Funeral Will be held from his late residence, Wellesley, on Sunday, December 13th, at 1 o'clock p.m., and proceed to the Maple View Amish Mennonite Church, Third Line, Wellesley, where services will be held. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Why should our tears in sorrow flow, When God recalls his own, And bids them leave a world of woe For an immortal crown? Is not e'en death a gain to those Whose life to God was giv'n? Gladly to earth their eyes they close, To open them in heav'n. Their toils are past, their work is done, And they are fully blest: They fought the fight, the vict'ry won, And enter'd into rest.     Bast.-Anna Schrag was born in South Easthope March 20, 1860; died June 20, 1926; aged 66 y. 3 m. She united with the A. M. Church in her youth and remained a faithful member to her end and always attended church services when ever possible. Feb. 14, 1887 she was united in marriage to George E. Bast. To this union were born 10 children of whom 4 preceded her. She leaves her deeply bereaved husband, 6 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 4 sisters. Funeral services were held June 23rd at the 3rd Line A. M. church near Wellesley, Ont.

After her decease he was married to Catharine Kesselring who was born October 28th, 1857. No issue of first marriage, but of second marriage there are seven children."

    Herner.-- Samuel. S. Herner was born near Blair, Ont., and died near Mannheim, Ont., Nov. 30, 1909, at 1: 30 p. m., of heart failure and instant pneumonia while sitting up in the rocking-chair. His death was very unexpected. His mind was strong till the last and he left a bright hope of the future. His age was 66 y. 3 m. 5 d. Funeral services were held at the Latshaw Church, Mannheim, on Dec. 3. Services were held in two places, church and school house. It was a very large funeral. He taught school in Waterloo Co., Ont., for 33 years, and was in the ministry for some years. Funeral services were conducted by Pre. Backus from Philadelphia, and Pre. S. Swartz, Text, II Tim. 2: 4-8, this being the last text of the deceased, he having preached from it two days before his death, in his home church.
