    Sitler. - Hannah Buschert, wife of Jeremiah Sitler, was born at Winterbourne, Ont., Jan. 7, 1884; died at the Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont., hospital on Nov. 24, 1933; aged 49 y. 10 m. 17 d. She suffered a stroke on Wednesday morning, Nov. 22 and never regained consciousness. She accepted Christ at 19 years of age and retained her faith to the journey's end. On Aug. 6, 1916, she was married to Jeremiah Sitler at Youngstown, Alta. Those who mourn are her husband, 1 son (Paul), 1 daughter (Arlene), 7 brothers (Norman, Carstairs, Alta.; Ephraim, Dogpound, Alta.; Ivan, Cereal, Alta.; Joseph, Kitchener, Ont.; Chester, Preston, Ont.; Ammon, Waterloo, Ont.), and 1 sister (Mrs. Alex. Sheriff, Carstairs, Alta.). The funeral was held Nov. 26. Minister, Oscar Burkholder. Text Psa. 116: 15.

    MRS JEREMIAH SITLER


    Following an illness of Hannah Sitler, wife of Jeremiah Sitler, R.R. No. 1. Waterloo, passed away at the K-W Hospital at o'clock this morning. Death was due to a stroke, Mrs. Sitier in her both year, was born in Winter bourne and was married on August 6, 1916 to Mr. Sitler at Youngstown, Alta. She was a member of the Cressman Mennonite Church Breslau.

    Surviving are her husband, one son and one daughter, Paul and Irene, both at home, Seven brothers. Norman Buschert, Carstairs, Alta, Ephriam of Dogpound, Alta, Ira in Kitchener, Ivan of Cereal, Alta, Joseph in this city, Chester of Preston and Ammon of Waterloo, and one sister, Melinda, Mrs. Alex Sherriff, Carstairs, Alta, also survive. One sister, Mrs. S. Wenger of Grand Rapids, Mich, predeceased her 15 years ago.

    Remains are resting at the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home.

    BUSCHERT - Wendell Buschert was born at Williamsburg, Ont., Sept. 13, 1847; passed away to his eternal rest at Breslau, Ont., on May 30, 1917; aged 69 y. 8 m. 28 d. His entire life was spent in Waterloo county. Bro. Buschert was a member of the Mennonite Church for many years, keeping the faith unto the end. He was married in 1871 to sister Lydia Cressman, to which union were born 12 children, 2 of them dying in infancy. There are left to mourn his departure a sorrowing wife, 7 sons, 3 daughters, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 23 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Breslau on Sunday afternoon, June 3, conducted by J. S. Woolner and Oscar Burkholder. Text, 11 Cor. 5: 1.

    BUSCHERT - Lydia Cressman was born Mar. 14, 1850; died at her home in Breslau, Ont., Mar. 19, 1927; aged 77 y. 5 d. On Nov. 26, 1871, she was united in marriage with Wendell Buschert. To this union were born 8 sons and 4 daughters. Her husband, 2 daughters, and 1 son have preceded her in death. She leaves 7 sons, 2 daughters, 29 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Sister Buschert united with the Mennonite Church during the ministry of Bishop Joseph Hagey, and died in the faith of her choice. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon, March 22, from her late home to the Cressman Mennonite Church, Breslau, and interment was made in adjoining cemetery. Services conducted by Oscar Burkholder. Text, 1 Cor. 13: 12.

    CRESSMAN. On the 5th of January, near Breslau, Waterloo county, Ont., of paralysis, Joseph Cressman, aged 68 years, 5 months and 2 days. Buried on the 8th at Cressman's Meeting-house, where a large congregation of friends and acquaintances assembled to pay their last respects and adieu to the beloved brother, whom we believe fell asleep in Jesus. He left a widow and 5 children and a number of grandchildren to mourn his departure. Funeral services by E. E. Weber and J. Woolner.

    CRESSMAN - On the 7th of September, 1893, at Breslau, Ontario, sister Veronica, widow of the late Bro. Joseph Cressman, aged 73 y., 10 m., 11 d. She died with a living hope. Buried on the 10th at Breslau, followed to the grave by many relatives and friends. She leaves a number of children and grandchildren to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held by Jacob Woolner in German, and by Amos Eby in English.

    John Cressman, "the eldest son of John and Anna (Schowalter) Cressman, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 15th, 1795. In 1807 he came to Canada with his parents and was raised near Freeport, Ontario. On October 3rd, 1818, he was married to Esther, daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Wismer) Wismer. She was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, January 12th, 1790, and died near New Dundee, Ontario, September 2nd, 1881. After their marriage they moved on the farm now possessed by Philip Zeller, Jr., about a mile south of Breslau. Here he died June 30th, 1840. To them were born five children"

    Esther Wismer, "was born January 12th, 1790, and died September 2nd, 1881. She was married to John Cressman. The fourth daughter of Joseph and Barbara Wismer, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, January 12th, 1790. In 1818 she came to Canada and settled in Waterloo County. On October 3rd, 1818, she was married to John, son of John and Anna (Showalter)Cressman. He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 15th, 1795, came to Canada with his parents in 1808 and settled in Waterloo County, a little below Freeport. After their marriage they moved on the farm now possessed by the heirs of the late Jacob Zeller, about one mile south of Breslau. Here they resided until his death which took place June 30th, 1840. After his decease she continued farming until her youngest son, Henry, had attained the age of manhood, then the farm was sold and the mother made her home with her daughter, Barbara, who was married to Samuel Cressman, where she died September 2nd, 1881. Their family consisted of five children"

    CRESSMAN - Sept. 2nd, in Waterloo Co., Ont., Sister Esther Cressman, widow, at the advanced age of 91 years, 7 months and 20 days. During the last nine months she suffered greatly from a fall. Buried the 5th at Cressman's.

She was born February 2nd, 1786, and died near Berlin, Ontario, July 24th, 1867. In 1808 Mr. Shantz, in company with his mother, his brother, Joseph, and his sister Veronica, moved to Canada and settled on the farm now in possession of Abraham H. Wamboldt. (This farm is a little to the south-east of Berlin). Here he resided until his death which took place December 12th, 1854. To them were born eleven children"

    A-1-55 Isaac Shantz: Last Will and Testament of Isaac Shantz of the Township of Waterloo.

    …I, Isaac Shantzs of the Township of Waterloo, being of good health and of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament…That is to say first, that all my just debts shall be paid, Second I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Esther, all my Books, four beds and bedsteads, my stove and pipe, my 24-hour clock and case, my case of Drawers, my bureau and cubboard[sic] and all that is in them both, one spinning wheel and real one table and kitchen furniture to the amount of ten dollars; also two cows and six sheep and two hundred dollars in cash out of the first moneys arising out of my Estate, and sixty dollars as Dowry, or the interest at six percent on one thousand dollars, each and every year during her natural life, further I order and devise and it is my will, that my son Isaac B. Shantz shall have my farm at Three thousand dollars in manner and form following, that is to say, the said Isaac is to pay two thousand dollars in ten annual yearly equal installments of two hundred dollars each, and also sixty dollars as the interest on one thousand dollars, each and every year during widowhood of my beloved wife. Should my loving wife depart this natural life, before the two thousand dollars are fully paid, then my son Isaac, or his successors, shall pay two hundred and fifty dollars each and every year, till the full amount of three thousand dollars are fully paid….I give and bequeath to all my sons and daughters, or their heirs and successors share and share alike, except my daughter Mary Herner, she is to have the interest at six per cent on her share each and every year, so long as she is and remains the wife of Samuel Herner, after his death, the said Samuel Herner, she or her heirs shall have her full share and portion as my other children, and I do hereby nominate my son Samuel Shantz and my son-in-law Abraham Mayer, as Executors in full power, as my own person of this my Last Will and Testament.
