    Gerry Musselman. Of Cambridge, Gerry passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the age of 88.

    Predeceased by Gloria (Ruby), his wife of 59 years, Gerry is survived by his daughter Karey Musselman and her husband Orlando Rivera; his daughter Carolyn Musselman, her husband Ekke Wigboldus and their daughter Leanna; his son Mark Musselman, his wife Yael Zaretsky and their children Lucas, Claire, Sloane and Katie; and by his sister Audrey Musselman.

    Born in Kitchener to Leslie and Ida Musselman, Gerry was raised and educated in Cambridge (Preston) and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto in 1956. Gerry founded an architectural practice with three of his classmates and worked his entire career with MMMC Architects (formerly Mark Musselman McIntyre & Combe, Architects). The firm designed a wide variety of buildings throughout Ontario with a particular specialty in heath care facilities; seniors and assisted-living homes; churches and other places of worship; primary, secondary and post-secondary educational facilities; and arts and cultural spaces. Gerry's favourites include the Cambridge Public Library, the Galt Centennial Fountain, Galt's Central School, and the Gore Mutual Headquarters. An active member of the Mennonite church throughout his life, Gerry was instrumental in the development and design of Fairview Mennonite Home and apartments, Parkwood Mennonite Senior's Community and Nithview Mennonite Home.

    Gerry possessed a lifelong passion for the protection, preservation and restoration of heritage buildings. He worked to establish and lead Heritage Cambridge as an organization to advocate for the preservation of important heritage buildings in the region. One of Gerry's proudest professional achievements was his leadership of the fight to save the Preston Public School building from demolition and his subsequent oversight of the conversion of this 1869 heritage stone school to seniors' housing. Gerry worked with others to ensure the protection and restoration of the Detweiler Meetinghouse in Roseville, the only surviving stone meetinghouse built by Mennonite pioneers in Ontario.

    Friends are invited to visit with Gerry's family at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Detweiler Meetinghouse in Roseville on Friday, April 26, at 2:00 pm. with Scott Brubacker-Zehr, Minister at Rockway Mennonite Church, officiating. Interment in the Roseville Mennonite Cemetery and reception to follow.

    MUSSELMAN, Gloria of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the age of 83.

    Survived by her husband of 59 years, Gerry, her children and grandchildren, Karey Musselman and her husband Orlando Rivera, Carolyn Musselman, her husband Ekke Wigboldus and their daughter Leanna, Mark Musselman and his wife Yael Zaretsky, and their children Lucas, Claire, Sloane and Kate.

    Born in Tavistock to Ervin and Laura Ruby, Gloria was raised in Kitchener and began her career as a grade 1 teacher in Kitchener and then North York. After raising her children, she spent many years working at Fairview Mennonite Home where she managed the volunteer program.

    Ervin Jake Ruby, was 83 years of age, an active member of First Mennonite Church and a longterm employee of J.M. Schneider.
    He is survived by his wife, Irene (Fretz) Ruby; two daughters, Gloria Musselman and her husband Gerald of Cambridge and Carol Homes of London, Ont. and one son, Dale Ruby and his wife Susan of Hertfordshire, England. Four step-sons include Ronald Fretz and his wife Marlene of Kitchener, Marvin Fretz and his wife Betty of Listowel, Glenn Fretz and his wife Jan of Toronto and Douglas Fretz and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania. Grandfather of Karey Musselman Rivera and her husband Orlando of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carolyn Musselman Wigboldus and her husband Ekke of Cambridge and Mark Musselman of Toronto, Alastair, James and Ben Ruby, all of England and Laurie Holmes of Corpus Christi, Tex.     Musselman. - Jacob, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Musselman, was born in Woolwich Township, Waterloo Co., on Jan. 27, 1869. For the past 23 years he has been a resident in the town of Waterloo, and a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church. On March 16, 1892, he was united in holy matrimony to Angeline Snider of Woolwich Twp. who preceded him in death Jan. 28, 1919. This union was blessed with 4 sons and 2 daughters: Ermina, Mrs. Ira Bauman, of Elmira; Elsie, Mrs. Cleason Martin, of Waterloo; Leslie and Edgar of Preston; Eldon of Detroit. One son Herbert predeceased him 8 years ago. On April 11, 1920, he was united in marriage to Mary Litwiller of Wilmot Twp. with whom he observed a silver wedding anniversary on April 11, 1945. After a brief illness he voiced his desire to leave this world and he passed the Great Divide on Aug. 26 in his 77th year. Surviving are his sorrowing widow, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives. Services were held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Ont. J. B. Martin and Oscar Burkholder conduct the memorial service.

    JACOB MUSSELMAN

    Following a brief illness, Jacob Musselman, 76, died at the K-W Hospital late Sunday. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Musselman, he was born in Woolwich Township, Jan. 27, 1869. While he farmed in Peel Township for many years, Mr. Musselman had been a resident of Waterloo for the past 23 years. He was a member of the Erb St. Mennonite Church, Waterloo. Surviving are three sons, Leslie and Edgar, Preston; Eldon, Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Ira (Ermine) Bauman, Elmira; Mrs. Cleason (Elsie) Martin, Waterloo; four brothers, Menno and Fred of Kitchener; Albert, Galt; and Harvey, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Burkhardt, and Miss Adeline Musselman, both of Elmira. One son Herbert, died eight years ago. A private funeral was held at his late residence, 59 William St. W., Waterloo on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The public funeral service was held at the Erb St. Mennonite Church at three o'clock. Rev. J. B. Martin was in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery.

    "(New Dundee) Stricken with a heart attack, Aaron C. Bowman, 79, a lifelong resident of the Mannheim district, died suddenly Monday at his home. Born July 23, 1861, he was son the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Bowman and had lived his entire life on the farm where he died. He celebrated his golden wedding anniversary several years ago. Mr. Bowman was an active member of Latschar Mennonite church.

    Surviving are his wife, Sarah Bricker, a son Walter of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., four daughters, Mrs. George Milne of Mannheim, Miss Sylvia of Detroit, Mrs. Leslie Musselman of Preston and Mrs. Eldon Musselman of Detroit, a brother Ezra of Linn, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. Susannah Shantz of Kitchener and Mrs. John Berry of Longly Prairie, B.C., and 9 grandchildren....Latschar Mennonite Cemetery...."

    Mannheim, May 20 - Mrs Sarah Bowman, widow of Aaron Bowman, died at her home at Mannheim, Wednesday at the age of 84 years. The former Sarah Bricker, she was born in Blenheim Township near Washington July 3 1863, a daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Isaac Bricker. She was married to Mr. Bowman March 25, 1886, and they settled on the farm at Mannheim where she spent her life. Her husband died in 1941. She was a member of the Latschar Mennonite Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. George (Almeda) Milne of Petersburg, R.R. 2; Sylvia of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Leslie (Ida) Musselman of Preston, and Mrs. Eldon (Elsie) Musselman of Detroit; one son, Walter of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bowman, Ravensdale, Sask., and Mrs. Jacob (Lydia) Bergey, and two brothers, Isaac Bricker of Cupar, Sask., and Anson Bricker of Dawson Creek, Alaska. The funeral will be held at the residence at 2: 30 p.m., Saturday to Latschar Mennonite Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Osiah Horst and Bishop M. Hallman will officiate. The body will rest at the Poth Funeral Home in New Dundee until Friday at 3 p.m. when removal will be made to the home.

    Ruby.- Sarah, daughter of Jacob and Magdalena (Steinman) Brenneman, was born in South Easthope Twp., Ont, Mar. 5, 1884; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Oct. 19, 1977; aged 93 y. She was married to Nicklas Ruby, who died in 1935. Surviving are one son (Ervin), one daughter (Emmaline-Mrs. Ervin Bast), 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sons (Clayton, Nelson, and Mahlon). She was a member of the Tavistock Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Oct. 22, in charge of Wilmer Martin; interment in the East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line.
