    Alphonsus McGlynn Sr.

    PRESTON - Alphonsus McGlynn 93, of 130 Montrose St. North, Preston, died Tuesday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt, after a three day illness. He was born in England, in 1869 and came here in 1904. He retired from the Grand River Railway 27 years ago. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and honorary life member of St Clement's Holy Name Society. Mr. McGlynn was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Jane Kelly, in 1960. Surviving are three sons Peter, of Buffalo, N.Y., Joseph and Alphonsus Jr., both of Preston, five daughters, Mrs. J. (Monica) Mather, of Mimico; Mrs. F. (Winifred) Byrnes, of Windsor; Mrs. Charles (Norah) Lawrence, of Toronto; Mrs. Vincent (Anne) Scherer, of Kitchener and Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Grimm, of Preston, 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Maurice J. O'Brien Funeral Home, until Thursday at 9: 30 a.m. Requiem high mass will be said in St. Clement's RC Church, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Clement's RC Cemetery. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8.15 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus rosary at 8.45 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Alphonse McGlynn, Sr.

    PRESTON - Mr. Alphonse McGlynn, Sr., 83, of 130 Montrose St. North, died today at the Coutts Pavilion, Freeport, where she had been a patient for almost six years. Mrs. McGlynn was the former Mary Jane Kelly. She was born in England, and lived in Preston for 56 years. She was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Catholic Women's League, the Altar Society and League of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. McGlynn was also a former church choir member. Besides her husband, she survived by three sons, Peter of Buffalo, Joseph and Alphonse, both of Preston, five daughters, Mrs. J. (Monica) Mather of Mimico, Mrs. Edward (Winnifred) Byrnes of Windsor, Mrs. Charles (Nora) Lawrence of Toronto, Mrs, Vincent (Anne) Scherer of Kitchener and Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Grimm of Preston, one sister, Mrs. Joseph Warden, Preston, 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Maurice J. O'Brien Funeral Home, until 9 a.m. Thursday. Requiem mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's Church Thursday at 9: 30 a.m. Commtital service will be at Preston Park Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at St. Clement's Cemetery. Members of the Catholic Women's League and Altar Society will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 3 p.m. and members of Monsignor Meyer's Council Knights of Columbus, Wednesday at 9 p.m., for recitation of the rosary.

    MRS. JANE KELLY

    The funeral of the late Mrs. Jane Kelly who passed away on Sunday noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs A. McGlynn, Montrose street was held this morning at 9 o'clock, with services at St. Clement's church. Rev. P. J. Meyer officiated. Pallbearers were, J. Brown, G. Mather, J. Mannion, J. Reinhardt, W. McGlynn, J. Mather, of Preston. Floral tributes and mass cards were many and beautiful. Intermernt was in the R. C. cemetery at Speedsville.
