SOEHNER, Marshall George Passed away peacefully after the Remembrance Day Services on November 11, 2013 surrounded by his entire family. He is reunited in heaven with his dear and loving wife of 64 years, Rose. He was the second son of the Herman and Dora Soehner of Salem. Marshall served his country proudly in the Canadian Army, RCEME from 1941-1945. Upon discharge, he established and operated Elora Frozen Foods for over a decade. He moved to Waterloo after marrying his sweetheart Rose Nahrgang and became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He gave willingly of his time and talents to the work of the church and to the Waterloo community. He devoted his time serving on the Group Committee for the 8th Waterloo Cubs and Scouts, the St. John's Sr. Citizens' Home (Luther Manor), singing in the choir, to the Lutherwood organization and to the beautification of memorial flower beds around the city. He was a past president of the Laurel Kiwanis Club and the Waterloo Horticultural Society, from which he was honoured with a life membership. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Cathy of Guelph and daughter Muriel of Waterloo. He was the loving Grandpa to Eric and Becky of Toronto and Jacob of Guelph. He was especially loved by his great-grandson Gavin. He is also survived by Gaye Soehner, Carl Soehner, Lila and Melvin Hill as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Fred Ludolph officiating. A memorial service for the residents of Luther Village will be held at a later date. PHILIP SOEHNER

The death occurred early Wednesday morning Sept. 4, of Philip Soehner at his home in the village of Floradale after a short illness. Deceased was born in Kitchener on Nov. 11, 1855, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Soehner. At the age of 4 he moved with his parents to Floradale where he spent his entire He was predeceased by his wife 14 years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Herman of Salem and Emma at home; five daughters, (Elizabeth), Mrs. Chris. Hartwig of Floradale, Mrs. Catharine Schmidt of Floradale, Mrs. Annie Stadelbaurer of Elmira, (Margaret), Mrs. Alvin Kaufman of Scotland, Ont., and Clara at home. Fourteen grandchildren and one great-grand-child also survive,

The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the family residence to Trinity Lutheran church for service. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. F. Malinsky will officiate.

FLORADALE, March 7-The death occurred at the family residence. on Monday morning of Mrs. Philip Soehner after an illness of over three months. The deceased lady who has been a life-long resident of the district, was in her 75th year. She is survived by her husband. five daughters and two sons: Mrs. Chris. Hartwig, Yatton; Mrs. Katherine Schmidt, Floradale; Mrs. Peter Stadelbauer, Balsam Grove; Mrs. A. J. Kaufman, Scotland, Clara at home; Herman Soehner, of Salem, and Emanuel at home. One brother, George Weismiller, of Elmira also survives. Two sisters predeceased her, within the last year. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held Friday morning to Trinity Lutheran Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

On the 24th November there died here Henry Soehner, who had gone a little past the 70th milestone. Deceased was born in 1830 in Baden, Germany, and came to this country at the age of 25 years. He worked in Berlin for some time and then came to this village, where he carried on a wagon-making business, 13 years ago he had a paralytic stroke which partially lamed him and deprived him of the power of speech which he recovered only to an imperfect degree. He patiently bore the cross thus laid upon him. Deceased always manifested a lively interest in church and school. He leaves behind a widow, four sons and two daughters, also a brother residing in Michigan, who came over to see the remains of his brother laid in the grave. The burial took place on Tuesday Nov. 27th in presence of a large number of friends. Funeral services were held by Rev. R. T. Vorberg in the Lutheran church. May the Lord comfort the bereaved family and may consolation come to them through the hope of a reunion with the departed in the realms of light where there shall be no more sorrow and tears shall cease to flow.
