    Dorscht, Violet E. - At St. Mary's Hospital, on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, surrounded by her family. The former Violet Emma Simon aged 89 years. Violet was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Dear mother to Janet Leadston and Art Werner of Ayr and Diane and her husband Jim Schaller of Kitchener; sister to Ron Simon of Brighton; loving Grandma to Sean Leadston and his wife Lee, David Leadston and Lori Schaller. Predeceased by her parents, Emil Simon and Hannah Warnholz; her husband, Louis in 1995 and a brother, Wilfred Simon. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Friday from 2-4 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Haggarty and Pastor Eric Reble officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home or email 1057@alderwoods.com.

    Simon, Emil - On Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1989, at Sunnyside Home, after a brief illness, Emil Simon, formerly of Braun Street, Kitchener, age 95 years. Emil was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and had been very active in church activities. He had been a foreman for the Dominion Button Company until his retirement in 1959. Father of Ronald of Toronto and Mrs. Violet Dorscht of Kitchener. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Dianne Schaller, Janet Leadston, Barbara Lawlor and Bob Simon and six great-grandchildren, Lori Schaller, Sean and David Leadston, Donny Lawlor and B.J. and Scott Simon. Predeceased by his parents; his wife, Hanna in 1965 and one son, Wilfred. He was the last surviving member of his family. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 3: 30 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Leonard officiating. Internment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery. Donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church TV Ministry, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario may be made as expressions of sympathy.

    Mrs. Emil Simon, 71, of 15 Braun St. died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. A resident of Kitchener for the past 50 years, she was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Warnholz. Surviving besides her husband, whom she married Nov. 3, 1917, are two sons, Wilfred and Ronald, both of Toronto; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Violet) Dorscht of Kitchener; four brothers, August of Kitchener, Herman of Hespeler, Julius of Waterloo, and Marcus of Kitchener, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother and four sisters. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where service will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. H. W. Opperman will officiate. Donations to the building fund of St. Peter's Lutheran Church will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Died While Here on Visit

    Mr. Julius Warnholtz, of Kitchener, passed away suddenly at the home of his son, Herman Warnholtz, about 8.30 Sunday evening. The deceased had come over to visit his son on Sunday, having visited friends at Kossuth and Beaverdale during the afternoon. He was sitting playing an auto harp when the call came. The deceased was born in Germany 75 years ago, coming to Hespeler from that country in 1902. He resided here for twenty one years until 1923, when he and his wife moved to Kitchener where they have lived with their children since. The late Mr. Warnholtz was an active member of the Lutheran Church. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, four daughters, Maria, Emma, Martha and Hannah of Kitchener, and five sons, August, John, Julius and Marcus of Kitchener and Herman of Hespeler. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon in Kitchener the service being held St. Peter's Church, and internment in Mount Hope cemetery.

    Mrs. J. Warnholz

    The death occurred Saturday at 1.30 p.m. of Mrs. Julius Warnholz at her residence, 15 Braun street, in her 76th year. The late Mrs. Warnholz who was born in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Springer, came to Canada in 1902. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband predeceased her three years ago. Three daughters, Mrs. C. Schmidt, Mrs. E. Simon, both of Kitchener, Mrs. E. Schycolowich, Toronto, five sons, August, John Julius and Marcus of Kitchener and Herman of Hespeler, 46 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, also one brother and two sisters in Germany survive. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon with private services at the residence on Braun street at 1.45 thence to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for public services at 2.15. Internment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. H. A. Sperling will officiate.
