    Henry S. Martin was born Feb 3, 1926, in St. Jacobs to Emerson and Barbara (Sauder) Martin and passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

    He is dearly missed by Eileen (Diller Baker) his spouse of 12 plus years. He was predeceased by his former spouse Mary (Bauman 1928-2007) of 58 years.

    Henry and Mary had seven children: Judith, Lois (John) Yutzy, Anne (Verton) Miller, Gerald (Verna), John (Ladina), Andy (Colleen) and Cam (Althea-Lisa) and two stepchildren, James (Irene) Baker and Stephen Baker. He will be missed by 22 grandchildren: Justin (Sandra) Yutzy, Jordan (Melody) Yutzy, June (Daryl) Swartzentruber, Jerald (Liana) Miller, James Miller, Caleb (Joanne) Miller, Bethany Miller, Kerry (Heidi), Devon (Julia), Shannon (Gavin) Shantz, Jessica (Rod) Bauman, Kenton (Tricia), Brianna, Janine (Jeremy) Stutzman, Jesse (Bessie), Jed (Sheri), Jerry (Amanda), Brendon, Janna, Sonya (Noah Steinmann), Tristan, Malia and two step-grandchildren, Angela (Corey) Hoffman and Laurah Baker along with 30 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by his two grandchildren Sheila Martin and Jonathan Miller.

    Survived by his sister Ada (Stan) Valenta and sister-in-law Joanne Bauman.

    Predeceased by his siblings and in-laws; Edwin (Almeda), Ivan (Alvina), Howard (Seleda), Sylvester (Annie), Elizabeth (Enos) Gingrich, Lovina (Norman) Brubacher, Aden (Alice), Clarence Bauman, Selina Bauman, Elias (Minerva) Bauman, Mabel Bauman, Eli Bauman and Aden Bauman.

    In 2006 Henry retired and moved to Elmira. He was widely known as "Greenhouse Henry" as the owner of a greenhouse and market gardening business in St. Jacobs for some 45 years on a second-generation farm. He was organically inclined and health conscious many years before it became mainstream. For some 27 years dad was a conscientious school bus driver around the region. Dad was a founding and committed member of (Heidelberg) Countryside Mennonite Fellowship and actively involved in song leading for decades.

    A drive past visitation will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd, Hawkesville. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the directions of the attendant. A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, June 25, 2021.     MRS.EMERSON MARTIN

    St. Jacobs Mrs. Emerson Martin died today at her home near St. Jacobs after a brief illness. She was 82. The former Barbara Sauder, she was born Feb. 5, 1888 in Wellesley Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Sauder. She was married in 1911 to Emerson Martin who predeceased her in 1961. She and her husband had operated a greenhouse and market garden near St. Jacobs for many years. She was predeceased by an infant son, and another son Edwin in 1965, also by four brothers and a sister. Surviving are five sons, Ivan of RR 1, Whitby, Howard of RR 1, Preston, Sylvester of Linwood, Aden of St. Jacobs, Henry of RR1 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. Enos (Elizabeth) Gingrich of RR 4, Elmira, Mrs. Norman (Lovina) Brubacher of RR 1, West Montrose, Mrs. Stanley (Ada) Valenta of RR 1, Waterloo; one brother Benjamin and a sister, Elizabeth, both of Elmira; 37 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Monday evening. A family service will be conducted Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the residence followed by a memorial service at Martin's Mennonite Meeting House, where she had been a member. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    ISAAC BAUMAN

    Isaac Bauman, well-known farmer of the Fourth Concession of Peel, passed away at the K-W Hospital on Thursday morning at the age of 52 years, following an operation.

    Mr. Bauman, a son of the late Jesse and Leah Bauman, was born in Iowa, U.S.A., and spent the past 25 years in Peel Township.
    Surviving besides his widow, are four sons Clarence, Elias, Eli and Ad-en, and three daughters, Selina, Mary and Mabel, all at home, also two sisters residing in the United States.

    The funeral was held from the residence at 9:30 Monday morning to North Woolwich Mennonite Church for service. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    MRS. REBECCA BAUMAN

    Funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Bauman, 61, of 13 William St., who died Wednesday July 17 at the K-W Hospital, was conducted at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel Friday at 2 p.m.

    A memorial service was held at North Woolwich Mennonite meeting house following the chapel service. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. The body rested at the funeral home.

    Born in Waterloo Township, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Martin. Her husband Isaac B. Bauman, predeceased her.
    She is survived by four sons, Clarence, Eli, and Aden, all of Elmira: Elias of RR 3. Moorefield; three. daughters, Selina and Mabel of Elmira, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Martin of RR 1, Waterloo: four brothers Allan of Floradale.     ST. JACOBS. Oct. 6-A resident of this village for the past 12 years, August Sauder died at his home early today in his 81st year. The deceased was born in Wellesley township in 1857. Prior to moving to St. Jacobs, Mr. Sauder farmed north of Waterloo until 1925 when he retired.

    Surviving are his widow, three sons, John of St. Jacobs, Jacob in Hawkesville, Benjamin, North Woolwich, three daughters, (Judith), Mrs. Ezra A. Martin, (Barbara) Mrs. Emerson M. Martin, both of St. Jacobs and Elizabeth at home, one sister, Mrs. Wm. Westfall, St. Jacobs, and two brothers. Henry Sauder of St. Jacobs, and John of north of St. Jacobs.

    Funeral services will be held Friday morning from the residence at 9 o'clock to the Mennonite Meeting House, Conestogo, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    ST. JACOBS, Jan. 15. Mrs. Elizabeth Sauder, widow of the late August Sauder, formerly of St. Jacobs, died late last night at the home of her son Jacob, 1½ miles west of Hawkesville. She was 93 years of age on Jan. 4.

    Surviving are two sons, Jacob and Benjamin of St. Jacobs; three daughters, Mrs. Ezra A. (Judith) Martin, Mrs. Emerson (Barbara) Martin and Elizabeth at home. Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers.

    Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at nine o'clock from the residence to Conestogo Mennonite Church, near Three Bridges for service and interment.

    5 April 1942: Jesse S. Bauman died at his residence, a short distance north of Myerstown this morning. The decease was eighty-nine years of age. He was the son of the late Eli and Rebecca (Snyder) Bauman and was born in Wallenstein, Canada. He was of the Mennonite faith, migrated to Iowa In 1887 and remained there until 1915 when he moved to Lebanon County. Mr. Bauman was a retired farmer. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Levi Brubaker and Mrs. Elias Gingrich, of Myerstown; two sons, Eli Bauman and Isaac Bauman, of Wallenstein, Canada; thirty-six grandchildren, and fifty-four great-grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Moses Gingrich and Mrs. David Martin, of Elmira, Canada.
