Death of Mrs. E. Knellar - Passed Away Suddenly on Sunday Morning, Aged 75 Years -

Mrs. Edward Knellar, aged 75, died at 5.15 a.m. Sunday at her home here following many years of ill health. Mrs. Knellar suffered a severe heart attack a month ago and had been confined to her bed since then. She showed remarkable courage, however, and throughout her long years of illness and right up to the end remained cheerful and strong in spirit. The deceased was born at Aldershot, England, and on coming to Canada as a young woman settled in Ayr, where she married George Waterman, also a native of England. Mr. Waterman died many years ago, and later Mrs. Waterman, whose maiden name was Mary Althea Vaughan, married Edward Knellar, the marriage taking place in Ayr. Mrs. Knellar was a faithful member of Christ Church and in the days when her health permitted took an active part in the various activities of the church. She was particularly interested in choir work and for many years sang in Christ Church choir. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Bechthold, Paris, and Miss Kate Waterman, Ayr, and one son, William Waterman, Hamilton. Two sons predeceased her many years ago. The funeral took place this (Wednesday) afternoon with private service at her late home at 2.30 and a public service in Christ Church at 3 o'clock. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery.
