    Funeral of Ward Hoffman - The funeral took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon of the late Ward Hoffman of Plattsville whose death occurred on Saturday morning after an of seven weeks. Deceased, who was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoffman, was quite popular with the young folks of the Plattsville community, where he was a. member of the hockey and baseball teams. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Gammon, Ayr, are grandparents.

Hoffman, in his 85th year, beloved husband of Vera Gammon; dear father of Harold and George of London, Mrs. John Hughes (Marion), Princeton, Mrs. Ray Plyley (Evelyn), Elora; predeceased by a son Ward, in 1936; brother of Albert of Woodstock, John of Hamilton, Mrs. May Turnbull of Hamilton; also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville, where service will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. Interment in Ayr cemetery. Rev. H. PiIlen will officiate.

    Mrs. Charles Hoffman, the former Vera Gammon of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, formerly of Plattsville, passed away Monday, February 23th. She was in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Hoffman, who predeceased her in 1973. Dear mother of Mrs. Jack (Marion) Hughes of R.R. 1, Princeton, George of London, Ont., and Harold of Komoka. Also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn in 1975; a son, Ward in 1936; a grandson, Douglas in 1959; one sister, Olive and a brother, Clifford. Resting at the Rumble Funeral Home, Princeton, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday). Complete funeral service including committal will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26, at 2 p.m. Rev. Harold Pillen will officiate. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.

    Mrs. W. E. Gammon, one of the oldest residents of the village, died suddenly at her home on Walter street on Saturday, Feb. 6th, in her 83rd year. She had been in failing health for the past few years.

    Mrs. Gammon was born in the township of Blenheim. a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bass. After her marriage to Mr. Gammon 55 years ago, they moved to Ayr. Mrs. Gammon was an active worker in the former Methodist Church and later a member of Knox United Church.

    Surviving are her husband and three children: Mrs. R. H. Milllkin, Trenton ; Mrs. C. W. Hoffman, Plattsville, and Clifford Gammon, London. One sister, Charlotte, and a brother, John, also survive.

    The Funeral

    The funeral, was held from the family residence on Tuesday, Feb. 9, with Rev. J. W. Currie conducting the services. The pallbearers were: R. Schlichter, Kitchener ; Edward Whitson, Thomas Easton, J. W. Currie, H. C. Elliott and CL S. Dalrymple. Interment took place in Ayr Cemetery.
