    Notes:

    The death took place at his home here on Saturday last, after an illness of about six months, of a popular young man in the person of Ernest Edward Butterfield, aged 24 years. He was a Canadian by birth and had been a resident of Ayr for nearly six years. An adherent of the Methodist church, and at one time a member of the choir, also interested in amateur athletics, he will be missed by a wide circle of comrades. The funeral took place on Monday from the residence of Mr. A. Borrett, Swan St., Rev. D. H. Taylor conducting the services. The pallbearers were Robert Bell, Ewart Bell, Spencer McLean, A. Halliday, Chas. Holdaway and Murray Gillespie.

    Notes:

    Death of Mrs. Arthur Borrett - Georgina Bull, wife of Arthur Borrett of Woodstock, passed away at an early hour on Friday morning at the family residence, 129 Victoria Street, north. The deceased lady was born in Nottinghamshire, England, and came to Canada in 1879. The family first settled in Ayr, later going to Woodstock, in 1916, where she had resided continuously up to the time of her death. She was a neighborly, kindly woman, who made many friends, both in Ayr and in Woodstock, who will learn with sincere regret of her passing. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Lewin of Woodstock and Mrs. W. E. Robinson of Sandwich, Ont., and one son, Albert Borrett, of East Zorra. A funeral service was held at the late residence on Sunday evening at 9 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. T. Heslop, pastor of Dundee Street Methodist Church, and on Monday morning the body was brought to Ayr for interment in the family plot.
