Leslie Howard Kelley Passes

A well known district farmer, Leslie Howard Kelley passed away Monday in Willett Hospital, Paris, in his 78th year. He was born south of Ayr, a son of the late Phillip Kelley and Margaret Anderson, and had farmed for many years on 24A Highway, a few miles north of Paris. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Paris. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Olive Scott, are three sons, Howard, Ross and Keith, all of RR 2, Paris; three brothers, Phil-lip and John of Paris, and Norman of St. Caches; one sister, Mrs. Jean Hunter of Paris; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held today (Wednesday) at the Cumming Funeral Home, Paris, with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. Stanley Tose officiated.

Mrs. Philip Kelley, native of South Dumfries, and a man who was widely known and highly esteemed, passed away early yesterday morning, after a short illness, aged 57 years. He resided on Lot 88, con. 5, and was born only a short distance from where he died. He was a Presbyterian in religion and a Conservative in politics, but never took much interest in affairs outside of his calling as a farmer. Two brothers, William and Jacob, live in the same community. There are also four sisters, viz., Mrs. Markle, Drumbo; Mrs. Maus, Paris, and Mrs. Kay and Miss Mary Kelley, Dundas. His own family comprises five sons and two daughters. They are - Phillip, at Paris; Leslie, on the Paris and Galt Road, and Thomas, Clar?, Jennie, John and Norman at home. Mrs. Kelley, whose maiden name was Margaret Anderson, also survives. The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, when interment will be made in the Ayr cemetery.
