    Of the Golden Years Nursing Home, Preston Cambridge, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Monday April 21, 1975, Benjamin C. Dempsey. Beloved husband of the late Jessie Winger; dear father of Marjorie (Mrs. Martin J. Lester) of Kitchener. Mr. Dempsey was born in Parkhill and had been a resident of Preston for 65 years where he owned and operated his own tinsmith business; a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Preston and past executive of the Woodmen of the World and a former councillor of Preston. Mr. Demspey is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ellen Martin of Hamilton, 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; predeceased by one son, Ben and two daughters, Violet and Martha. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, corner Queenston Road and Argyle Street, Preston until noon Thursday, then to Knox Presbyterian Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.

    Mrs. Benjamin Dempsey

    PRESTON, Nov. 17 - Mrs. Benjamin C. Dempsey, Preston resident for more than 50 years, died suddenly at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, last night. Suffering a severe heart attack at her home, 930 Queen St., yesterday, Mrs. Dempsey, who had been ailing for some three weeks, was removed to hospital. Born at Elmira, daughter of the late Reuben and Martha Winger, she came to Preston at the age of seven years and resided here since that time. In 1909 she was married to Benjamin C. Dempsey in Preston by the late Rev. J. R. Johnston. A member of Knox Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Aid and the Missionary Society of the church, the late Mrs. Dempsey was also keenly interested in community affairs, Surviving is her husband; a daughter, Marjorie Helen, Preston; a son, Benjamin John, Toronto and sister, Mrs. Thomas Everson, Hespeler. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.

    MRS. SAMUEL DEMPSEY

    PRESTON, April 5--The funeral of the late Mrs. Samuel Dempsey of London, mother of Benjamin Dempsey of Preston, who died in London Sunday, will be held from the residence of her son, 930 Queen street, Preston, Wednesday afternoon at 2 30 p.m. Interment will be made in Preston cemetery. A brief funeral service was held in London, yesterday afternoon following which the remains were brought to Preston. The late Mrs. Dempsey was well-known in Preston. She lived here for 22 years before going to London eight years ago. Following her marriage in 1877, the deceased lived at Parkhill for 34 years. She was born in Mooresville, McGillivray township 78 years ago. Besides her husband there survive four sons, Benjamin of Preston, Morley of Regina, Sask., Homer of Dovernay, Alta., John J. of Hamilton and three daughters, Mrs. E. P. Aitken of Winnipeg, Mrs. Norman Martin and Mrs. Anna Robson, both of London.
