    Boy, sister drown in Nova Scotia

    A brother and sister from Cambridge drowned while on vacation on Cape Breton, 70 miles west of Sydney, N.S., Monday. Dead are Michele Theresa Weston, 10, of 398 Garden St. and her brother, Roy Francis, 6, the only children of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weston. RCMP were unable to explain the drownings of the children, who attended St. Clements school in Cambridge. A spokesman said the two children were last seen alive playing with a ball at Port Hood Beach. Their bodies were discovered floating near the shoreline. The family was visiting Mrs. Weston's relatives in the area.

    WESTON, Francis (Frank)

    Of 398 Garden St., Cambridge, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, Nov. 20, 1988, in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Agnes MacIsaac; dear father of Michael at home. Lovingly remembered by one brother, John of Cambridge and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Tretiac of Oakville and Pauline (Mrs. Peter Lipowskil) of Toronto. Predeceased by one son, Roy; one daughter, Michelle (1975) and four sisters and one brother. Mr. Weston was born in Cambridge (Preston) and lived there all his life. He was employed for a number of years at Kralinator Filters. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and the Monsignor Meyer; Council of the Knights of Columbus. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9: 45 a.m., Wednesday, Nov.23, 1988 at St. Clement's RC Church, Cambridge. Interment in St. Clement's cemetery, Cambridge.

    Anthony Weston

    PRESTON, Sept, 4 - Well-known Preston resident for 41 years, Anthony Weston died at his home, 841 Duke St. yesterday at the age of 70. He had been ailing for three years. Born at Uscie Zelone, Austria, Mr, Weston came to Canada, directly to Preston in 1910. He formed a large circle of friends in the community. He was an employee of Clare Bros., as a moulder, for many years. For a number of years he operated a shoe repair business in Galt, but continued to reside in Preston. He was a member of the R.C. Church. Surviving are his wife, Lena Powlowska; six daughters, Mrs. Victoria Chornaby, Galt; Mrs. Helen Farnham, Hamilton; Mrs. William (Marie) Blair of Hamilton; Mrs. Michael (Anne) Dorosch, Preston; Mrs. William (Eleanor) Terenttak, of Oakville; Mrs. Peter (Pauline) Lipowski of Toronto and two sons, John and Frank Weston at home. Thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be held tomorrow with requiem high mass at St. Clement's R.C. Church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the R.C. cemetery.

    Mrs. Anthony Weston

    PRESTON - Mrs. Anthony Weston, 79, of 841 Duke St., died today at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. The former Michelena Wynynski, she came to Preston from Austria 64 years ago. She was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Catholic Women's League and St. Clement's Altar Society. Her husband died in 1951. Surviving are two sons, John and Frank, both of Preston: five daughters, Mrs. William (Marie) Blair, Hamilton; Mrs. Michael (Anna) Dorosh, Preston: Mrs. Lorne (Helen) McCullough, Preston; Mrs. William (Eleanor) Terentiak, Oakville; Mrs. Peter (Pauline) Lipowski, Toronto; 18 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weston was predeceased by three sons and one daughter. The body is at the Maurice O'Brien Funeral Home where the parish rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock. Reqiuem mass will be at St. Clement's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Clement's cemetery.
