    WEGFORD, Clarence - Passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at Freeport Health Center of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Clarence resided at Nithview Home, New Hamburg and was formerly of Philipsburg where he was born 88 years ago. He was the son of the late Adam and Catherine (Berg) Wegfahrt. Clarence was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg where he served on church council and the cemetery committee for many years. Beloved husband of the late Martha Wegford, who predeceased him October 5, 2002. Dear father of Carol Wagler of Newmarket and Paul Wegford of New Hamburg. Loving grandfather of Trevor and Wendy Wagler, Ian Wagler, all of Waterloo, Laurel Wagler of Mississauga, Christopher Wegford and Jason Wegford, both of New Hamburg. Also remembered by son-in-law Harvey Wagler of Waterloo, sisters-in-law Verna Wegford of New Hamburg, Isabel Compass of Waterloo, Esther Hoerle and brother-in-law Edgar and Marilyn Hoerle, all of New Hamburg. Clarence was predeceased by brother Stanley Wegford, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Irene and Reuben Wettlaufer, Charlotte and George Wegfahrt, Leona Hoerle, Bruce Compass and Weybourne Hoerle. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. and again Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 2: 30 p.m. with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg or the Canadian Cancer Society.

    Mrs. Mary Berg, relict of the late Henry Berg, passed away at her residence here shortly before 1 o'clock this morning. The deceased; daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Henry Hermann of Sebastopol, was 71 years of age.

    She had resided for the greater portion of her life in North Easthope, coming to this village to live about 14 years ago. She is survived by seven daughters; Annie, at home; Lydia, Mrs. Jacob Schneider, Wellesley; Katie, Mrs. Charles Wegfahrt, Philipsburg; Clara, Mrs. Ed. Nau, Shakespeare; Matilda, Mrs. Wm. Studer, Sebringville; Elsie, Mrs. Oscar Koehler, and Leah, Mrs. Norman Koehler, both of Berlett's Corners. Three brothers, four sisters, and 16 grandchildren also survive.

    The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late home to the Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
