    BAUER, Antoinette M.

    At the Freeport Hospital, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 1979, after a lengthy illness, Antoinette Marie Bauer, formerly of 100 Queen St. N., Kitchener, aged 93 years. A member of St. Agnes RC Church. She had served for 16 years on the Board of Directors for the K-W Catholic Social Services, was decorated by Pope Pius XII, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, for work in the Catholic Women's League. She had lived most of her life in Waterloo and was the founding president of St. Louis CWL in 1924 and held a second term in 1938. During the Second World War she was convener of war work for Hamilton Diocesan CWL and was convener of immigration for the Diocesan Council. She served as president of the Hamilton Council in 1947 and 1950. In 1950 to 1953 she organized 50 parish councils in the Hamilton Diocese. She was vice-president of the CWL Provincial Council. She was president of the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Waterloo Ladies Auxiliary to the Freeport Sanitorium and the Central Council to Freeport Sanitarium. Sister of Harry and Lucia, both of Waterloo, Sister Stanislaus of St. Joseph's, London, Ont. Predeceased by her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Aloyes Bauer of Waterloo, four brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, where parish prayers will be recited on Thursday, at 8 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, at 9: 30 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at St. Agnes RC Church, at 10 a.m., with Father T. H. Gerhartz, SAC, officiating. Interment will be in Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery.
