Passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Manuel Melo, 89 years of age, beloved husband of Georgina, dear father of Filomena (Valdemar) Picanco, and Victor (Gloria) Melo, all of Cambridge. Loving grandfather of Susy (Manuel) Pardo, and Kevin Melo; Manuel was excited about the arrival of his first great-grandchild, due in January. Mr. Melo is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Manuel's family will receive friends at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers being held at the funeral home, at 8: 45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Saturday morning, at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
