    Surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 8, 2010, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 52nd year. Precious daughter of Margaret O'Brien and the late Thomas O'Brien (1988). Loving sister of Jim O'Brien and his wife Loretta, Kevin O'Brien and his wife Linda, Richard O'Brien and his wife Carol, Patrick O'Brien and his wife Judy, John O'Brien and his wife Bev, all of Cambridge. Thomas O'Brien Jr. and his wife Patsy, Michael O'Brien and his wife Cindy of Kitchener. Bill O'Brien and his wife Margie of St. John's, NL. Dearly beloved sister of Margaret Kavanagh and the late Joseph Kavanagh (2007), Patricia Stone and her husband Don, Jean and Jim Costello all of Cambridge, Marie Durnford and her husband Ben of Paris, ON. Catherine is pre- deceased by her three sisters Ellen, Rita and Mary. Catherine will be sadly missed by her 40 nieces and nephews, her 48 great nieces and nephews and her many friends and neighbours. Catherine was born on Bell Island, NL and has been a resident of Cambridge, for 44 years. She was a faithful, loving and devoted caregiver to her mother Margaret. Catherine is a member of St. Clement's Parish. The family will receive friends at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, 566 QUEENSTON ROAD, Cambridge on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 8: 30 p.m. Celebration of New Life will be held at St. Clement's Church on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Special thanks to all the Doctors of Oncology and the nurses on the 5th floor in the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their loving care for Catherine.

    Of 12 Tuscany Cres., Cambridge, on Thursday, Dec. 8, 1988, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Margaret Kavanagh; dear father of Bill of Newfoundland, Jim, Tom, Kevin, Richard, Mike, Patrick, John, Margaret (Mrs. Joe Kavanagh), Patricia (Mrs. Don Stone), Jean O'Brien, Marie Mrs. Ben Durnford and Cathy O'Brien, all of Cambridge; lovingly remembered by 38 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four sisters, Loretta O'Brien and Bridget O'Brien, both of Cambridge, Mrs. Josephine Brown of Newfoundland and Mrs. Bernadine Connors of Milton. Predeceased by three daughters, Ellen, Mary and Rita. Mr. O'Brien was born on Bell Island, Nfld. and came to Cambridge in 1985. He had been employed for 40 years at Wabana Mines in Bell Island and was a retiree of Eastern Steel Products of Cambridge. He was also a member of St. Clement's RC Church, Cambridge and the Preston-Hespeler Council of the Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Thursday (today) 2-4 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Amoral mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 10, 1988, at St. Clement's RC Church, Cambridge, at 10 a.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery, Cambridge.

Loving Mother of Jim O'Brien and his wife Loretta, Bill O'Brien and his wife Marguerite of St. John's, NL, Margaret Kavanagh and the late Joseph Kavanagh (2007), Tom O'Brien and his wife Patsy, Kevin O'Brien and his wife Linda, Richard O'Brien and his wife Carol, Patrick O'Brien and his wife Judy, Jean and Jim Costello and John O'Brien and his wife Bev, all of Cambridge, ON, Michael O'Brien and his wife Cindy of Kitchener, ON, and Marie Durnford and her husband Ben of Paris, ON. Margaret is predeceased by her five daughters Ellen O'Brien, Rita O'Brien, Mary O'Brien, Catherine O'Brien and Patricia Stone (Don Stone). Cherished Grandmother of 40 grandchildren, 60 great-grand-children and two great-great-grand-children. She will fondly be remembered by her brother and sister Frank Kavanagh of Holyrod, NL; and Helen Skanes of Bell Island, NL. She was a special Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born on Bell Island, NL, in March 1916 and moved to Cambridge, Ontario, with her family in 1966. Margaret is a member of St. Clement's Parish. The family will receive relatives and friends at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Monday, July 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7 p.m. Celebration of New Life will be held at St. Clement's Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. A sincere thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of Cambridge Memorial Hospital, The Red Cross Care Partners and especially Dr. Linda Hondubrata for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave to Margaret.
