BALKISSOON, Jaipersad (Tawoo) - On November 7, 2005, grandpa bid farewell to his final mission on earth in his 84th year, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, so we celebrate now, his final journey to all eternity. He was born on December 15, 1921 in Rose Hall, Berbice, Guyana, South America. Jaipersad Balkissoon was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband whose pride was his family. He was a well-respected and hardworking man, who retired from Walker Exhaust after serving over 10 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Well known as "Grandma") of over 61 years. He will be sadly missed by his six children, Welma and husband Joe Sattaur, daughter-in-law Barb Persaud, Evelyn and Herman Sugrim, Indra and Mohan Singh, Sandra and Rene Walti, Esther and Ken Kersting and Harry and Grace Jaipersaud; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Samdeo (Rudy). Funeral services to be held on Thursday, November 10, 2005, at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge at 10 am, and at Parkview Cemetery and Crematorium, University Ave., Waterloo, at 1 pm, where cremation will take place. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Note: Photo attached to newspaper obit.
