DRAPER, Douglas Roy

(May 7, 1919 - October 17, 2011). Gone home to be with his Lord on October 17, at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener, in his 93rd year. Loving husband for 62 years of Greta (Briard) Draper of Waterloo; cherished father of Lorna Draper of Kitchener, Roy (Barb) Draper of Elmira, and Ruth (Dennis) Funk of London, Ontario.; caring grandfather of Douglas and Dan Draper, and Jaimie and Kevin Funk and one great-grandson. Predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (Fraser), his parents, Sidney and Ethel (Griffin) Draper and two brothers, Leslie and Horace. Douglas was born in Ottawa and lived in Montreal before moving to Waterloo Region. He was a humble, quiet and gentle man who served God faithfully, happily working behind the scenes. He is now experiencing "in Thy presence is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16: 11). Douglas is resting at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S.,Waterloo, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 20, at 11 a.m., with a reception following. Interment at Mount View Cemetery, in Cambridge.
