MRS. SARAH MUNSON PASSED AWAY FRIDAY

Well Known Resident of Arthur For Many Years

The death occurred, on Friday June 20, at the home of her son, Mr A. O. Munson, Owen Sound, of Mrs Sarah Munson of Arthur, Ont., in her 80th year. The deceased had been visiting her son for the past six months. Two weeks ago she had a stroke from which she never recovered. She was born in Galt the daughter of the late David Scott, of Aberdeen, Scotland. In the year 1864 she was married to Aaron Munson of Arthur, who predeceased her ten years ago. She was a Presbyterian in religion. Two daughters and one son are left to mourn her loss, Mrs. Jas Robinson, of Edmonton; Mrs. J. W Easton, New York, and J. A. Munson. of New Ontario. She is an aunt of Mr. John Sibbald of Leith

The funeral will take place ir Arthur to which place the body is being taken by motor.

With feelings of great regret we announce to our readers this week the death of Mr. David Scott, which took place at the residence of Mr. David Harris, Preston, on Saturday last. The deceased was long a resident of this locality, having emigrated, with his family to Galt in the year 1839. Shortly after arriving here he went into the employ of the late A. Shade, having charge of the farm now owned by the Messrs. Brydon, Blair Road. He continued in Mr. Shade's employ for many years having for some time charge of the farm now owned by Mr. Wm. Smith. After Mr. Shade's death Mr. Scott took the farm owned by the Gouinlock Estate where he resided until a few years ago. Up to the time of his death, even though aged nearly 92 years, the deceased retained all his faculties and was able to read a newspaper easily without the aid of glasses. Mr. Scott was the father of Mr. John Scott, of Galt, Mr. Gideon Scott, Mrs. Sibbald, of Owen Sound, Mrs. Wm. Hood, of Guelph and Mr. Walter Scott, of Galt. He was a temperate, hard-working man and to his connect life can no doubt be traced the extreme age to which he lived.

Near Galt, on Friday night, the 29th October, Margaret, the wife of Mr. David Scott, aged 56. Her Funeral was attended to the grave on Sunday by an immense body of sorrowing friends.
