    Snider, Leah, daughter of the late Israel and Lovina (Snyder) Gingrich, was born June 1, 1894; died Aug. 16, 1959, at the K-W Hospital (Ont.), after a short illness; aged 65 y. 1 m. 15 d. In April, 1939, she was married to Addison M. Snider, who died Oct. 30, 1950. Surviving are 2 sisters (Susanna-Mrs. Amos Gingrich, Waterloo and Mrs. Barbara Gingrich, Wallenstein), and one stepdaughter (Margaret-Mrs. John Hurst, Kitchener). One sister and 4 brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services at the Elmira Church on Aug. 20 were in charge of Howard S. Bauman.

    MRS LEAH SNIDER

    Mrs. Leah Snider 65, of 10 James St., Elmira, died Sunday, August 16, at K-W Hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 1, 1894. in Waterloo township, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isreal Gingrich. She was a member of the Mennonite Church.

    In 1939 she was married to Addison Snider. He died on. Oct, 30, 1950.

    Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Amos (Susannah) Gingrich of RR 1, Waterloo, and Mrs. Barbara Gingrich of RR 2, Wallenstein. Four brothers and a sister predeceased her.

    The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until Wednesday at 1 p.m. then at the Elmira Mennonite Church for memorial service at 3 p.m. Burial was in adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Howard Bauman officiated.

    Leah married Addison M. Snider 8 Apr 1939. Addison (son of Solomon S.     Israel Gingerich, "the youngest son of John and Anna (Burkhard) Gingerich, was born August 27th, 1863, and on January 3rd, 1888, he was married to Lovina, daughter of Christian B. and Barbara (Baumann) Snyder. She was born February 8th, 1865. They reside on the west third of lot No. 63, German Company's Tract, Waterloo Township, about one-half mile east of the Martin Mennonite Meeting House, Christian B. Snyder's old place. They have a family of four children".

    Gingrich.-Israel B. Gingrich was born Aug. 22, 1863, in Waterloo Co., Ont.; died Aug. 23, 1937; aged 74 y. 1 d. Throughout his life-time he was a resident of Waterloo County. Death was due to the after effects of a serious paralytic stroke of three years ago. In the intervening period he enjoyed rather good health, but three days before his death he again became ill. He became gradually weaker and passed quietly away. On January 3, 1888 he was married to Lovina Snyder. This marriage was blest with 8 children, only 5 of whom survive. Two sons and 1 daughter (Mrs. Menno R. Eby) predeceased him. There remain the mother in the home, 2 sons (Manasseh and Freeman). and 3 daughters (Leah, Mrs. Amos B. Gingrich, and Mrs. David B. Snyder) all of Waterloo, Ont. He was a member of St. Jacobs, Ont., Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held Aug. 26, in charge of Bros. Roy Koch and Jonas Snyder.     Gingrich.-Lovina Snyder was born Feb. 8, 1865; died July 18, 1939; aged 74 y. 5 m. 10 d. On Jan. 3, 1888, she was married to Israel B. Gingrich who predeceased her two years ago. To this union were born 8 children. Those who survive are Manasseh of Waterloo, Freeman and Leah (Mrs. Addison Snider) of Elmira, Mrs. Amos Gingrich, Mrs. David B. Snyder of Waterloo. Two sons (Simon and Allan) and 1 daughter (Mrs. Menno Eby) predeceased her. One sister (Mrs. Isaac Hilborn, Kitchener), and 15 grandchildren also survive. She was a lifelong resident of Waterloo Twp., and early united with the Mennonite Church to which she remained faithful to the end. About two months ago she was stricken with a heart attack from which she never recovered. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church in charge of Brethren Roy S. Koch and Jonas Snider.

    Mrs. Israel B. Gingrich

    A lifelong resident of Waterloo township, Mrs. Israel B. Gingrich, 74, died early on Tuesday after an illness of two months, at her home, R.R. 1, Waterloo. Deceased, who was born Feb. 8, 1865, is survived by two sons, Manasseh of Waterloo and Freeman of Elmira; three daughters, Mrs. Addison Snider of Elmira, Mrs. Amos Gingrich and Mrs. David B. Snyder, both of Waterloo, a sister, Mrs. Isaac Hilborn of Kitchener, and 15 grandchildren. Her husband died two years ago. Two sons, Alan and Simon, and a daughter, Mrs. Menno Eby, also predeceased her. Funeral services were held Thursday at her late residence with Rev. Roy Koch and Bishop Jonas Snider officiating. Services were held in St. Jacobs Mennonite church with burial in Martin's Mennonite cemetery.

    Christian B. Schneider, "the only son of Joseph Schneider, Jr., was born October 18th, 1824. On October 31st, 1848, he was married to Barbara, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Baumann. She was born December 11th, 1825. Some time after their marriage they moved on his father's large farm containing 448 acres which he has since purchased. He and his wife still reside on the old homestead but the large farm has been divided into three farms, the east end is possessed by his son, Joseph, the central part by his son, Franklin, and the west end with the old buildings is possessed by Israel B. Gingerich, his son-in-law. Mr. Schneider has a family of ten children"

    SNYDER - On the 27th of February, 1897, in Waterloo Co., Ont., of diphtheria, Christian B. Snyder, aged 72 years, 4 months, 9 days, He had been in feeble health for several days, when three days before his death, diphtheria in malignant form developed, which baffled the skill of the best medical aid, and he sank rapidly until death released him. His remains were followed to their earthly resting place at the Martin M.H. on the 2d of March, by a large concourse of friends. Funeral services by Paul Martin and Joseph Gingerich. Deceased was born in Waterloo Co., on the 18th of October 1824. He united with the Mennonite church at an early age. On the 31st of October, 1848, he was married to Barbara Bowman who with five children survive to mourn the loss of a devoted companion, affectionate father and devout Christian. Five children preceded him.

    Joseph Baumann, "the second son of Wendel Baumann and his wife Maria (Huber) Baumann, was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, March 8th, 1796, came to Canada in 1819 and settled three miles north-west of the town of Waterloo, where he died December 21st, 1864. They had a family of seven children. "

    Joseph Baumann, "son of Wendel and Mary (Huber) Baumann, grandson of Christian Baumann, and great grandson of the old progenitor, Wendel Baumann, was born in the Alleghany Valley, Berks County, Pennsylvania, March 8th, 1796. In May, 1819, he left his native home and came to Canada, arriving at old Abraham Erb's place in Waterloo, some time in the month of June. After being here for a few weeks he engaged himself to Abraham Erb to manufacture flour barrels, and other ware belonging to the coopering trade. He had his home with old Christian Schantz who resided on a large farm, about one and one-half miles south-east of Berlin, now in possession Aaron B. Shantz. Here he formed the acquaintance of Anna, the eldest daughter of Christian Shantz, whom he married September 23rd, 1821. She was born October 19th, 1801, and died October 19th, 1822, aged 21 years. This union, although of but thirteen months duration, was blessed with one child, a daughter named Anna, who was born July 16th, 1822, and died August 10th, 1822, aged 25 days. After the decease of his wife he still continued in the services of old Abraham Erb, and had his home with his father-in-law. Some time during the year 1824 he formed an acquaintance with Elizabeth, daughter of George and Barbara (Good) Hoffman. She was born February 12th, 1795. On February 20th, 1825 they were married. In the spring of the same year they moved on their farm, being composed of lot No. 27, German Company's Tract. Here they resided until their deaths. He died December 21st, 1864, and she died May 6th, 1879. Their family consists of seven children,"
