    BRUBACKER, Salome (Sally) (nee Bauman) - passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital surrounded her family on Monday, October 9, 2006, in her 86th year (formerly of Wallenstein). Beloved wife of the late Elmer Brubacker (1972). Dear mother of Sharon VanManen and her husband Tony of Guelph. Dear grandmother of Kimberley Lehman (Joel) of Elora, Philip of Dundas, Lori (Tim Wowk) of Kingston, and Mark VanManen (Jennifer) of Cambridge. Great-grandmother of Paige and Rylee Lehman, Liam and Lauren VanManen and Natalie Wowk. Dear godmother to David Grigg. Dear sister-in-law to Isaac Brubacker, Adeline Freeman and Ethel Bauman. Predeceased by her parents, Enoch and Susannah; her sons, Paul, Barry and Terry and her siblings, Melvin, Alson, Viola, Selinda, Irene and Enoch. According to Sally's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Gilbert Maclntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Saturday October 14 at 1 o'clock.     Bauman, Enoch M., was born on Dec. 7, 1882; died at Martin's Rest Home, Elmira, Ont., Aug. 10, 1980; aged 97 y. He was married to Susannah Cressman, who preceded him in death. Surviving are 3 daughters (Irene, Viola-Mrs. Edwin Bowman, and Salome-Mrs. Elmer Brubacher), 2 sons (Melvin and Alson), 10 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Aug. 12, in charge of Earl Meyers and Stan Sauder; interment in First Mennonite Cemetery.

    -- On Sunday, Aug 10, 1980, at the Martin's Rest Home, Elmira, in his 98th year, beloved husband of the late Susannah Cressman.Dear father of Irene of Delhi, Mrs. Edwin (Viola) Bauman of Wallenstein, Melvin of Listowel, Also of Kitchener, Mrs. Elmer (Salome) Brubacher of Guelph. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 49 graet-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, one son, three brothers and three sisters predeceased him.Visitatioon at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira, until Tuesday, at 11 a.m., when removal will be made to First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E. Kitchener, for funeral service at 2 p.m. interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    Bauman. -- Susannah Bauman was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont., Oct. 4, 1879; died at the K. W. Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 7, 1948; aged 69 y. 2 m. 3 d. Death resulted suddenly from a heart attack following a stroke. On March 17, 1907, she was united in marriage to Enoch M. Bauman, who survives. Also surviving are 5 children (Irene, Hamilton, Ont.; Viola - Mrs. Edwin Bowman, Yatton, Ont.; Melvin, Heidelberg, Ont.; Alson, Kitchener, Ont.; Salome - Mrs. Elmer Brubacher, Wallenstein, Ont.), 9 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Noah Cressman, Breslau, Ont.; and Allen Cressman, Guernsey, Sask.), and one sister (Maryann - Mrs. Lloyd Shantz, Didsbury, Alta.). An infant son (Enoch) predeceased her in 1916 and a twenty-year-old daughter (Salinda) in 1935. In her youth she joined the Mennonite Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was a faithful wife and a kind mother. Funeral services were held Dec. 9 in the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Reuben Dettweiler and Oscar Burkholder officiated. Text: Ruth 1: 16,17.

    Enoch M. Baumann, "the second child of David D. Bowman, was born in Waterloo, October 20th, 1847. He owns his father's old homestead, near Conestogo, which is one of the prettiest farms in the township of Woolwich. He was first married to Mary, daughter of John and Anna (Weber) Martin, and after her decease he was married to Susannah Martin, sister of first wife. There were no children with first wife, but the second union has been blessed with a family of nine children".

    Cressman.-Cyrus Cressman was born June 13, 1845; died at the home of his son, Isaiah, near Kitchener, Ont., on Feb. 9, 1928; aged 82 y. 7 m. 27 d. On Dec. 24, 1871, he was married to Mary Horst, who predeceased him 19 years. To this union were born 7 sons and 4 daughters, 2 sons, David and Cyrus, having preceded him in death. There remain to mourn his departure 5 sons (Isaiah, of Kitchener; Noah, Levi, and John of Breslau; Allan of Alberta), 4 daughters, (Mrs. Enoch Bauman, Elmira; Mrs. Lloyd Shantz, Maggie of Alberta; Mrs. Jacob Cressman, of Breslau), and one sister, Mrs. Mary Clemens, Breslau. Before his marriage he united with the Mennonite Church in which communion he spent his closing years. He left a testimony of peace with God, and a desire to depart this life and be with Him. Funeral services were held on Feb. 13 at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, with the brethren C.F. Derstine and Oscar Burkholder in charge of the services. Text, II Kings 20: 1. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    David D. Baumann, "the third son of David and Maria (Bechtel) Baumann, was born at Waterloo, March 14th, 1820. On February 6th, 1844, he was married to Anna, daughter of David and Esther (Martin) Musselman. She was born December 26th, 1823. She is still living and has her home with her son Enoch who resides on the old homestead. They resided in Waterloo on his father's farm (now property of Mr. George Moore) until the death of his father in 1850, then they moved to Woolwich Township, about a mile north-west of Conestogo, where he died December 20th, 1876. They had a family of eight children"

In the year 1819, he came to Canada with his parents. On February 16th, 1830, he was married to Anna, daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (Cressman) Weber. She was born in Berlin, Waterloo County, August 14th, 1811. After their marriage they moved on their farm situated in Woolwich Township, about three miles north of Waterloo. Here they resided until 1857, then moved on the farm now possessed by their son, Enos. Here he died November 20th, 1879. She is still living and is quite strong and active for a person of such an age. Her home is with her son Enos. Mr. Martin had a family of twelve children"

    HORST. - On the 15th of May at his residence in Waterloo Co., Ont., of old age, Bro. David Horst, aged 80 years, 3 months and 17 days. He was a member of the Mennonite Church. A wife, children and 32 grandchildren mourn their loss, which we hope to be his eternal gain. He was buried at Martin's Meeting-house. Services were held by Elias Snyder and Abraham Martin, from Rev. 3 : 19. May the Lord comfort the sorrowing friends.

    HORST - On the 22d of February, 1897, in Waterloo Co., Ont., of cancer, Sister Magdalena Martin, widow of the late David Horst, aged 82 years, 10 months, 8 days. Buried on the 25th, in the Martin graveyard, north of Waterloo, where Paul Martin and Bishop Abraham Martin preached to a large concourse of friends. Deceased was a member of the Mennonite church for many years and was highly respected. She was born in Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa., Apr. 14th, 1814. She came to Canada with her parents in 1819. Dec. 4th, 1832, she was united in marriage to David Horst who died May 15th, 1884. Of their fourteen children, nine survive to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother.
