Mrs. Matilda Migliarini, of Baden, mother of Mr. Ersilo Migliarini, of this town, was instantly killed last Saturday forenoon, when a coupe driven by her daughter, Mae, skidded in loose gravel and plunged into the ditch on the highway near Ailsa Craig. Miss Migliarini and her mother left Baden on Saturday morning to spend the weekend in Thedford at the home of Mr. Peter Tomasino, an aged family friend of their native land of Italy. In St. Mary's they had a mishap by colliding with a truck, but no serious damage to their car was found by the mechanic in a St. Mary's garage and they proceeded on their way only to meet with the second sad accident. Mrs. Migliarini was instantly killed. Having her head crushed beneath the upturned car, but the daughter escaped serious injury. The remains of the accident victim were brought to Becker's undertaking establishment here and later removed to the home of her son from whence the funeral was held on Monday forenoon to the local RC Church and thence to the Catholic Cemetery at St. Agatha.

The late Mrs. Migliarini was born in Italy on July 12th, 1849 and came with her husband to Baden 56 years ago and had resided there since. During her long residence in the village she won the esteem of a large circle of friends. She was a devout adherent of the RC Church and a constant worshipper in Holy Family Church, New Hamburg. Her husband, the late Peter Migliarini predeceased her by 31 years. Three sons and two daughters survive her, namely, Leso, and Joseph, of Kitchener, Ersilio, of New Hamburg, Mrs. George Lobsinger, of Kitchener, and May at home.
