    Leg Amputated

It has been reported in Elmira on Thursday that Mr. Jack Linder, better known to his many Elmira friends as Jack the Ripper, of Waterloo, and formerly of Elmira had his right leg amputated above the knee at the Kitchener and Waterloo hospital on Thursday. Mr. Linder has ben reported seriously ill for some time and at one time all hopes for his recovery were given up but he seemed to rally about the last hour. This new calamity which befell him and which was the cause in the loss of his right leg was a complete surprise and shock to all who knew him. The hope of his friends in Elmira is that he has a speedy recovery.
