    Simon Ruppel

    Following a lengthy illness, Simon Oscar Ruppel, 66, of Frederick St., Kitchener, died yesterday at his residence. Born May 17, 1886 in Ontario, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Ruppel and was employed as a car salesman in Moose Jaw and Kitchener. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. His wife, Freda, survives. They were married in Listowel in 1917. Also surviving are two sons, Harry and John of Listowel; two brothers, Roy and Norman of Kitchener and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Burch and Mrs. Florence Jacobi. One brother, Herbert, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Keffer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. F.G. Stewart will officiate. The body is at the funeral home.

    Notes:

    Mrs. Conrad Ruppel, 42 Shanley street, died Saturday night, at 8 o'clock at the age of 67 years, 11 months, ad 17 days. Mrs. Ruppel was operated on early in March for appendicitis, and gained for a few weeks. Two weeks ago she began to fail and succumbed Saturday. She was born in Wallace township on April 26, 1863 and is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Burch, (Minnie), Mrs. Jacobi, (Florence), both of Kitchener and four sons, Oscar, in Saskatchewan, Norman, Herbert and Roy all of Kitchener. One brother, Adam Wenzel, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Zurbigg of Wallace township also survive. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at the residence private at 1.30 p.m. and at Calvary Memorial Church public, at 2 p.m. Interment at Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.

    DEATH OF AN AGED RESIDENT

    The death took place of an aged resident of Berlin in the person of Mr. John Ruppel at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. George Stachle?, St. George street, on Friday night at 11.45 o'clock. The deceased had been seriously ill for about three weeks and suffered from the effects of a broken rib since Christmas. The deceased was born in Kirckhelm, Greisherafeldt, Hesse, Germany on July 6th, 1824, and was in his 84th year. He came to Canada in 1857 and followed the occupation of a farmer in Woolwich, North Easthope, Colborne and Wallace until about nineteen years ago when he retired and moved to Waterloo. He was thrice married and is survived by three children by the first marriage, August, Waterloo; Conrad and Mrs. Geo. Gabel, of Wallace, and two daughters by the third marriage, Mrs. Geo. Stachle? and Miss Lizzie Ruppel, of Berlin. He is also survived by two nephews, John Ruppel, of Wallace, and Casper Ruppel, of Rochester, N.Y. The deceased has been living with his children since the death of his wife nine years ago. The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Zion Evangelical Church and from thence to the Waterloo cemetery..
