    Harrington.- Jacob Harrington, 71, died in his home at Wakarusa, Ind., after being ill for five weeks with complications caused by ear trouble. The son of John and Mary Harrington. He was born July 25, 1859, in Canada and came to the vicinity of Wakarusa with his parents when three years old where he grew to manhood. On March 12, 1883, he married Mary Trysinger, with whom he lived on a farm with near Wakarusa. Sometime later they moved to Wakarusa and he was employed at the Metal Forming Co., in Elkhart for about seven years, prior to five years ago when he became ill with blood poisoning. He was converted in the spring of 1909, and on April 24, was baptized at which time he was received as a member in the Mennonite Church and as a brother in the Holdeman congregation. Bro. Harrington was a man of strong religious convictions, true to his Master until the end. Surviving are his wife and five children (Chester and Harry Harrington, Mrs. Eli Hunsberger, Mrs. A.J. Dullinger, and Mrs. Guy Burkhart). One son (Forrest ) died on March 24, 1929 at the age of 25. there are also 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (David and Amos Harrington) , 2 sisters (Mrs. Isaac Flickinger and Mrs. Seth Eby). He was a man universally respected and loved by all who knew him. A neighbor not to be forgotten. His love for children was marked, and he alway greeted them with a cheery word. The funeral was held at the Olive Church, conducted by Brethren David A. Yoder and Silas Weldy. Text, Jno. 17: 4. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Notes:

    HARRINGTON.- On the 6th of August, in Elkhart Co., Ind., John C. Harrington, aged 83 years, 1 month and 2 days. He was born in East Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa., on the 4th of July 1803. At 21 he moved to Waterloo Co., Ontario and was married to Mary Colosky in 1832. In 1862 he moved to Elkhart Co., Ind. He was the father of 13 children, 10 of whom and his wife survive him. Before his death he requested that the funeral text should be Rev. 14: 13, that the hymn "Komm sterblicher betrachte mieh"should be sung at the funeral; also to be buried in a shroud in a plain coffin without silver handles and not to be drawn in a hearse. He died in the hope of the fullness of glory beyond this vale of tears.

    Notes:

    Harrington.-Mother Mary Harrington died Aug. 22, 1894, near Wakarusa, of paralysis, aged 81 years and 7 days. She was born in the city of Lancaster, Pa., Aug. 15, 1813. At the age of 8 years she emigrated with her parents to Waterloo county, Ontario. October 25, 1832, she was married to John C. Harrington who preceded her to the spirit world Aug. 6, 1886, at the ripe old age of 83 years, 1 month and 2 days. Of this union there are yet 10 children--4 sons and 6 daughters alive. In April, 1862, she, with her husband, moved to Elkhart county and settled in Olive township, where she resided to her death. She was a consistent member of the Mennonite church, unassuming in all her Christian traits of character. Her funeral took place on Friday from the residence of her son David Harrington and interment at Shaum's where two able discourses were delivered to a large concourse of friends and relatives by Pre. Lehman and Mumaw.
