David Lichty, "The Lichtys are natives of Switzerland from which place they emigrated to America and settled in Penn Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as early as 1760 if not earlier. The name of the old pioneer settler (Traditon has it that his name was 'Hans') of this family was not received. Of his family we have the name of one son, named David who was born probably as early as 1763. He was married to Magdalena, daughter of Hans Weber whose father, George Weber, came from Switzerland in 1723 or 24. She was born August 30th, 1763. They were married in 1790 and had a family of three children when he died in 1796. Their family was as follows, namely: Elizabeth, born November 2nd, 1791, John, born July 21st, 1793, and David, born April 14th, 1795. Elizabeth and David never settled in this country. We shall now follow the family of John Lichty."
