    Dr. Andreas Koetsch in Preston, 44 yrs, 11 mths, 18 days, born in Lindenkreuz near Gera, Sachsen. went to Univ. of Leipzig from 1846 to 1848. learned lessons of famous professors Petermann, Bock, Wober, Joerg, Assmann, Markel, Guenther, Braun, Franke, Erdmann. rec'd Doctor's Diploma. Interned in 38th. Prussian Infantry Regiment in Mainz & rec'd. best marks everywhere. Came to Canada in 1854, was licensed in 1856 & named as Coroner. Since then, practised here with great success.

    Misfortune:
    In June of 1858 he had the misfortune to accompany two constables to the scene of a shooting, and while there received a shotgun blast in the arm, from which nine buckshot pellets were removed.
