Died 23 Oct 1878 Anna Maria Hexemer, nee Fleck, died near Stevensville, of old age, at age of 77 years, 6 months & 3 days. She was born in the year 1801, on Apr. 20th, in Spickelheim, in the Rhine district of Bavaria, canton of Landau. In 1815, she married Jakob Hexemer, who predeceased her about 21 years ago. In 1830, they left the old fatherland and settled in Bertie township on Black Creek, where she died. Their marriage was blessed with 13 children, 4 of whom died young. She leaves 9 children, 89 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. Pastor C. F. Stein spoke to the mourners on the words in the revelation of John "Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord"
