TRANSLATION OF JACQUES SCHAMBER AND SALOME BUHLER'S MARRIAGE
Parish of Kirrberg, District of Saverne, May 11, 1841 at 10 a.m.
Marriage certificate of Jacques Schamber, 28, born at Kirrberg, Jan. 6, 1813, day-laborer, resident of Kirrberg
Son ( legitimate, and of age ) of Etienne Schamber, Sr. 61, laborer, present and consenting, and of Christine Huber, died at Kirrberg, November 19, 1817
And of Salome Baler, 25, born at Kirrberg, December 14, 1815, daughter ( legitimate and of age ) of Chretien Baler, 48, tailor, resident of Kirrberg, present and consenting, and of Salome Lichty, 50, resident of Kirrberg, present and consenting As required by the register of this parish, the banns were published at Kirrberg on Sundays April 18 and 25, 1841, without opposition to this marriage
These have provided their birth certificates. The mother of the groom died in this parish on November 19, 1817, verified by a death certificate being in the parish archives, and thus it was not necessary for a copy to be produced
These certificates, and all requirements of the Civil Code, and of Chapter 6, Title 5, Book 1 of said code, were read by the official of the civil state, as required by law. The here-named couple declared themselves to one another in marriage: one, Salome Bühler, the other Jacques Schamber, in the presence of the following 4 witnesses:
1. Abraham Billier, laborer, 32, first cousin of the groom
2. Frederic Schamber, day-laborer, 41, paternal uncle of the groom
3. Louis Dick, weaver, 34, brother-in-law of the groom
4. Jean-Adam Strobe, day-laborer, 35, friend of the groom
These 4 witnesses are residents of this parish.
After which, I, Pierre Fleury, Mayor, representing the state, pronounced the couple united in marriage in the eyes of the law.
Having been read, this certificate was signed by the couple, the witnesses and those attending, as well as myself as Officer of the State
