Notes |
- DEATH OF MRS. ANDREW HAY.
The Barrie Examiner of Thursday March 26th, says:-
It was with the deepest regret that the many friends of Mrs. Andrew Hay learned of her demise on Monday. For several months she had been in very delicate health and on Sunday evening she became suddenly worse, and, despite everything that could be done for her, passed away early next morning.
Mrs. Hay was a daughter of James Brown, and was born at Haysville, Waterloo County, in 1847. Twenty-nine years ago she married Andrew Hay, and eight years later they came to Barrie where the rest of her days were spent. She leaves two sisters, and two brothers, viz: - Mrs. F. Sanderson, Wilmot Tp., Waterloo Co., Miss Eliza Brown, of Haysville, Harry G. Brown, of Berlin, and Frank C. Brown of New York. Her mother died many years ago, but her father passed away only a few months ago, at the ripe old age of 88 years.
Mrs. Hay's sweet and gentle disposition and her charming personality won for her a very warm place in the hearts of those with whom she came in contact.. She was a noble example of true Christian womanhood.
