    • Christian owned the Commercial Hotel in Guelph; he also built a row of fine houses across the street from the Agricultural College and his wife and her niece served meals to personnel from the College. They had 3 children - George who ran the Commercial Hotel and the Regent Theatre in Guelph, he did not marry; Norman also did not marry - he owned the International Hotel in Welland and the Queen's Hotel in Stratford, Ontario. Their sister, Emmaline married Louis Napoleon Edward LaFontaine and had 5 children.

      MR. REINHART BURIED.

      Guelph, Jan. 21. The remains of the late Christian Reinhart were laid at rest this morning. The funeral was one of the largest ever witnessed in Guelph Services were held at the church of Our Lady.

      The casket was the largest ever used in Canada. With the body it weighed 1,200 pounds and in order to place it in the hearse the inside fittings of the vehicle had to be removed

      The pallbearers were Mayor Sleeman, C. Kloepfer, ex-M. P., Thomas Ingram, James Hood, Jos. Barrett, John Vogt, David Martin, and Chas. Schmuck and F. C. Borsh, of Toronto.

      HEAVY HOTELKEEPER.

      Death of Christian Reinhart, Who Weighed 425 Pounds.

      Guelph, Jan. 19.-Christian Reinhart, former proprietor of the Commercial hotel, died last night at his residence, College Heights. He was one of the best known hotelkeepers in western Ontario. Kidney trouble was partly the cause of death, in addition to his enormous weight, 425 pounds, which everything was done to reduce. He went to Mount Clemens for a couple of weeks for treatment, and came back fourteen pounds heavier.

      GUELPH HOTELMAN DEAD.

      Toronto, Jan. 20. - Christian Reinhart, formerly proprietor of the Commercial Hotel, and one of the best known citizens of Guelph, died yesterday.

      The late Mr. Reinhart was born in New Germany in 1852. When a young man he moved to Preston, where he engaged in the boot-making business for some time. After that he moved to Guelph and went into the hotel business.

      A widow and three children are left to mourn his loss. The children are George, Norman and Mrs. Lafountain, all of this city. The funeral will take place on Monday.

      The late Mr. Reinhart was remarkable for his great weight, which reached 425 pounds.
